Greetings all,

Forgive me if the answer to this problem is obvious, but I am missing something when it comes to displaying a pano on iPod/iPhone. All is well on a regular computer (with Flash preferred) or on an iPad, but with the settings I'm using the iPod/iPhone displays only a fraction of the page.

An example is here: http://www.proxima-veritati.auckland.ac.nz/Ilam/

The only way that I can get it to fit the iPod/iPhone screen is to check the fullscreen box on the HTML5 Output/HTML tab, but then I also get fullscreen display on a desktop computer (displaying the Flash version) which I definitely don't want - I would like to display a text heading, at the very least. The settings I'm using in the HTML5 Output/Mobile tab for the iPhone/iPod are: Max Screen Size: 480 Cube Face Size: 416 Image Quality: 85. In the HTML5 Output/Settings tab: Window Size: 720 x 460, (with a version of the Simplex skin containing a fullscreen button). Is it that the iPod/iPhone is literally trying to display 720 x 460 pixels? Surely I don't have to set the pano's Window Size to a tiny 480 or fewer pixels-width??

I've tried searches of the Forum for this issue, but if the solution is there I've overlooked it. Many thanks to anyone who might be able to gently point me in the right direction!

Regards,
Brian

Isn't there a fullscreen HTML template? I would recommend using it -- or editing a template to make it full screen (100% / 100% / no margins) - and embedding your tours in IFRAMES...

In your HTML, what happens if you change the width and height in:

<div id="container" style="width:720px;height:460px;">

And then change the width and height flash params to 100%:

"720", "460",

---

Again, the fullscreen skin should do this- but you may need to tweak it as I believe the height is 95% by default.

Many thanks for your reply and advice. I suppose fullscreen is the way to go, it just that it seems a bit overwhelming on a large desktop display, where I would prefer to display a panorama at a modest size and offer the user a fullscreen option via a skin button. Still, I'll try your suggestions, and thanks again.

I am having the same problem mentioned above. After following the mobile instructions in the HTML5 video I found that panos on my iphone are presented at the Window Size of the desktop versions (unless the full screen option is clicked in the HTML tab). I noticed in the Pano2VR HTML5 demo the iphone panos behave properly without the full screen box checked. I downloaded the project files for the HTML5 demo and re-exported them using the included .p2vr file with the full screen button unchecked and find that on my device (iphone 4/ios 5) you are only able to view a portion of the stage ( http://www.ratbite.org/test/01_maria.html ). Since the mobile resize works in the HTML5 demo video without being exported in full screen mode, can you give me any advice on how i can (or why I am not able to) replicate this function?

Thanks

LaRue

Hi,
Just to confirm:
If you make an HTML5 output at 1024 x 768 with no fullscreen selected in the HTML tab then this will be oversized for devices with a smaller screen. The iPhone 4's logical screen size is 480 x 320 and the iPhone 5 is 568 x 320.

The best way to do this is in the the Advanced Settings tab select Double Click Toggle Fullscreen.
This will then behave just like the HTML5 example, when it first opens it will be oversized, then after a double tape it will resize for the screen.

In this case the word "Fullscreen" is a bit misleading as fullscreen fills the the viewable screen of the device you are using, so for an iPhone making it smaller, but fit perfectly.

Hopki,

Thanks for the reply.

Besides needing/wanting/being overtly desirous of panos to size correctly on mobile devices AND without them opening in Full Screen mode on a desk top browser...
(at least I know that is not possible and not that I am botching the output)
part of my point in my last post is that the HTML5 tutorial video
http://gardengnomesoftware.com/tutorial.php?movid=17
makes it look like this is possible
(results of the the first output starting at 4:20 show the iphone panos appearing “well sized”... and the Full Screen function is not toggled till the second output at 5:11)

Hi,
Yeah I see your point but at time index 05:09 it is pointed out that the fullscreen is selected to fill the browser window.
But yes it would be good to be able to select which outputs have fullscreen.
