What is the image capture device of choice, and why. If still camera, what format and image size.

Sincerely, PAMCO motion control, product development.

My Vote is NIKON, but not a coolpix, The D series, I can make it all manual and I can change lens.

Not enough control of camera settings, to many frames/files size, to low of rez for additional images. Less lighting control. to difficult to post edit, compression from onboard camera settings, last but not least I hate video cameras. and this list is for a single row, the troubles only multiply with every row you add to the product.

For just a couple samples

And a couple that you can not get close on a video camera.

Sorry about that one not being in object2vr
