The Joomla plugin seemed to install ok. When I try and use the editor button to insert a GGPKG package I get the following error. The Joomla 5 compatibility plugin is enabled. Attached a screenshot.

FYI Joomla 6 was officially released yesterday. Can anyone confirm the Joomla plugin actually works on the latest Joomla 4?

Hi Jim,
The current Joomla GGPKG plugin works with Joomla 5, here is our test website:
https://support.ggno.me/joomla5/
Can you send us your package?
If so please send to

Hi Hopki,
I haven't gotten to the point of inserting a package yet. If by package you mean a tour package. The error shown pops up when I hit the GGPKG button in the Joomla Editor to insert a tour's package.

~jim
Update 1: I've attached the J4 plugin I downloaded
Update2: Also disabled Akeeba AdminTools frontend and backend server protection. This is what actually allows that error to pop-up. Otherwise I get a 403 error.

Hi Jim,
OK I see what you mean and are doing.
I don't use the add package button, instead I use the embed code, from example:
Code: Select all
{ggpkg file="testPackage" width="640" height="480" start_preview="true"}
Note: For Joomla the short code is incased using curly brackets.

This is why I was not seeing the issue you reported, the above code displays the package on our test Joomla 5 website:

For now I would use the embed code, please see this page for further details:

Hi Hopki,
I don't like to complain too much, but sometimes you have to complain just enough, so please take this in the respectful manner it is intended.
I'm just coming back to Pano2VR and paid my monies to update to the latest version 7. Whatever has gone awry that the Joomla plugin isn't fixed completely for me to use or for an end user who buys a tour from me to use is baffling. This problem is years old now since at least Joomla 4 from the forum post below. There is no mention of support for Joomla 5 and the now officially released Joomla 6! It is posted prominently on the GG site as a major selling point, about the CMS plugins and their easy usage and benefits. At this point, several years on, I don't feel like GG is being up front with people regarding the Joomla plugin's ongoing brokenness. With all the wizardry going on with the software how hard can it really be to get this fixed?
(October 10, 2022 "While we are busy with Pano2VR 7, for now, you can use an iFrame... ...later when the plugin is updated you can use the package")
Kind regards,
~jim

Hi Jim,
Only the menu item GGPKG is not working, but with being able to use the short code, this was a working solution.
However, testing Joomla 6, the plugin is not working, so it is something we do need to look into.

Hi Hopki,
While they are looking into these issues can the Joomla plugin be brought to feature parity with the WordPress plugin? Specifically "Start Node" and "Start View" options? Seems like that could be really useful to open to different parts of the tour as desired because the article on that page is information about that point in the tour. Actually, it seems kind of crucial for those use cases.
