image cache cleared too soon when "unload images to save memory" turned on for V7 beta4

When "unload images to save memory" is turned on, i believe memory is cleared immediately when I navigate away from a node, this is problematic because the target view window shows black on my target nodes. In V6 i believe the image cache is not clear immediately and stored for a few nodes. Trying to find out if this is a bug or a problem on my side.
