Modify comp: Index Thumbnail Menue ("Material")

Hi,
this time it is a more simple question, but I ask, to avoid to "destroy" some of the logic in the skin:
HOW to "delete" the lottieanimation function of the component: Index Thumbnail Menue ("Material")
AND to reach the simple goal:
Having 2 buttons (like "tabs") and choosing visibility of either nodes menu OR categories menu.
In other words:
What can be deleted - without having problems in other "areas" of the skin - and what is still needed for the filtering functions of the categories?
Why do I need this:
Because this thumbnail menu should be visible all the time, and only the switching beetween nodes and categories should be done (with 2 seperate buttons, toggle is not needed).
So, what to take care of?
