There aren't too many people who can or have done these. We use a experimental platform using a UAV helicopter. You will find some neat examples of things you can do on our site. I use Pano2VR for both my aerial and ground based work. I've been very happy with the linking I can do for the real estate websites I have created as well. Very beneficial and easy to use - and it doesn't crash anymore!

Hi
Very interesting photos. Real crispy sharp and amazing perspective.
I have two questions if you don't mind

1. Did you use bracketing to get such a detailled aerial photo. As the heli is shaking all the time isn't this a messy job in photoshop?

2. How did you do with a helicopter a skyview (Zenit shot)?

Nevertheless good job.

Cheers

Thanks for sharing
Interesting images

But I miss the concept of how these panoramas are made.

I found the following site http://www.photoshipone.com/index.php which sells specific mounting devices.

Question for my understanding and the concept:
There is a servo motor which is preprogrammed and at a certani timecounter or on the press of a button a program launches the mounting device and the camera. But how are photos being shot ? The infrared of a Nikon DSLR definitely doesn't go that far.

Any link to how to's and basic aerial photoshooting would be welcome or if anyone could share their basic knowledge on heli panos I really would apreciate.

Second
How can you shot nadir and "especially" zenith. The rotor and helicopter are always in the way aren't they?

Cheers

The camera is operated by a wireless downlink. I have personally seen his remarkable equipment.

Sorry, but the helicopter driver asked me not provide explanations beyond the downlink item. There are some local helicopter pano folks in his competitive area here in the forum.

However, you might email him directly. email found on http://www.hawkeyemedia.com/default.asp
