Text to Speech: not choosing selected voice

Hi all,
I'm trying to get the Text to speech component to read some text in my tour. While it does do this, it is speaking with a female English voice. The language of my tour is Dutch (NL). Also my Windows installation is Dutch and in Windows Settings a male Dutch speaking voice is selected as default.
I read Hopki's article on settings and added 'utter.lang='nl';' but it does not matter.
To be more precise (testing as I write):
In Firefox it speaks with a female English voice
In Chrome there is no voice at all
In Edge it actually speaks in a Dutch female voice.
Now I am confused. Neither of the browsers actually speaks in the system default male Dutch voice.
Would you have any idea how to make it always speak in the system default voice, no matter what browser?
