Hi

A client of me has a setup of 4K Screens in its showroom and had the idea to show some 4K content created as 360° panorama.

So 4K = 3840 pixels × 2160 pixels

We generate equirectangular panos actually at 8000x4000 pixel but its obviously less when wrapped and shown...
Any input to share to get crisp sharp 4K content generated.

Yeah, you should use 12k for a display FOV of 120 degrees (which is a third of 360 degrees, 12k/3=4k).
Here's some explanation: http://www.360heros.com/2015/02/4k-vr-3 ... roduce-it/

It's about 360 video but applies to still panoramic images as well.

@zap
Simply multiplied by 2x

~ 8K panoramic texture for 2K display
~ 16K panoramic texture for 4K display

? Would shooting raw help with the large image color depth and detail ?

workflow:
RAW image converted to uncompressed tif file format
16bit color depth
high pixel per inch

Just thinking out loud.
