I've taken the plunge and decided to take sound seriously (I've spent money). As I think Binaural is the closest we can get to VR in sound, it seems an ideal match. I've got Soundman mics and an H2 recorder.

The file is:

I'm a complete newby in this field and I would appreciate any help/advice.

Thanks,

John

Hi John

I'm in same boat.
I also bought H2 and now I'm in the process of learning needed stuff.
I know Flash enough to code panning into sound into my fla projects,
but Pano2VR doesn't offer any kind of audio control,
except by providing external player.

For now I could only wish that Pano2VR gets ability to stream 2 stereo tracks
(front and rear, recorded by H2)
and dynamically control loudness and balance with panorama rotation parameter.

Another approach would be to create own FLA with sound control actionscript which
could get current panorama rotation and zoom data from imported Pano2VR panos.

Only thing is that I don't know if is it possible to get those data from Pano2VR panos.

We were successful in attaching an audio loop .swf to a hot spot inside a panorama. See pano2vr skin photos for instructions.

Hi,
maybe you can use the following script-placeholders to export/extract the data:
current panorama rotation (pan angle): $ap
zoom data (fov): $af
tilt (tilt angle): $at

Inside a pano created with Pano2VR you can read out these data in real-time, e.g. within a textfield.
I don't know if it works within FLA and Actionscript.

Hi

Thanks to both advices.
Being away prevented me from replying sooner.
I'm swamped with regular work atm, but as soon as workload eases I'll divert more brainpower into sound issue.

Who knows, maybe Thomas pops out with some upgrade towards sound direction in the meantime :)

Cheers
