Hi

What do you think of starting a small list of possible DIY solutions to build a turntable rig.

Version A: Side view
- Lazy Susan with velcro on top allowing the clipping of multicolored plexiglas
Pro : cheap and easy
Con : setting degrees exactly = difficult

Version B: Side & Top View
idem A) with the camera moving vertically on tripod

Version C: Side, Top & Bottom View.
don't know how to get the bottom part.

Particpation apreciated.

Option 1
To find the degrees on a circle. A measuring tape can be used. Measure the circumference of the circle. Take the total and divide by 36 to get every 10 degrees.

Option 2
Another easy way that I have used in the past is to make a box in illustrator a 1/2 inch tall by the circumference of you circle. Then have illustrator distribute markers evenly within the box. Once that is done, print out the box. Lay it our on the side of your round, mark it and off you go.

Option 3:
Make 8.5 x 11 doc in Illustrator. Put a Starburst on the page. Do this by selecting the star tool. Then click on page. Dialog opens up for how many points. Pick 18 20 36 40 48 your choice. But it should be divisible by 4. Then make it as big as you can on the 8.5x11. Print it. Put it in the middle of your round. Stick it there some how. Extend the lines to the edge of your table/round with a ruler or yard stick. To make sure you are lined up correctly, the straight edge should line up with the mark you are wanting to make and the opposite mark on the starburst.

All of these options assume that you have some type of a stationary marker to line you tick.mark up with.

Hope it helps

For Option 3 :
You think using a glass or transparent plexiglas plate does work. If yes what about reflections. If no: Could you hint me in a direction this could be done technically.
