We have seen some people having issues uploading to street view.
We want to make sure you are following the guidelines when creating Google Street view tours.
Pano2VR is a desktop application so if you all of a sudden start getting street view errors then it can only be something out side of Pano2VR, such as:
• How the tour was made
• If you're using your own API Key, something is wrong with that
• Something wrong with your account (billing, valid payment method)
• Something wrong with the Place ID
• Google Street View is having issues, this can also be geographical, so some people have issues while other don't
But in the main following the advice below should make sure the tour is built to Google recommendations eliminating some of the issues associated with how the tour was built.
In Pano2VR 7 make sure you have not changed the default image size (1), this is found in Settings => Images => Street View 12000 px Max image width. This has been known to cause an issue with multiple node tours, but it is also recommended by Google.
While you are in the panel you may want too add some sharpening to your images using the interpolation filter (2).
Optional: Add User Data, a while back Google were using the description text field for image titles and if this returns in the future it may be worth setting the data.
Optional: Patch to remove your tripod, Pano2VR has a Blurred Cover patch which is similar to Googles default patch, but blurs the centre so looks nicer, note, you can have a logo but you cannot have any contact details or web address. This may result in the images being Maps Rejected.
Also the patch cannot be too large, make sure you check with Google recommendations, links below to Google Help.
Also make sure your images are levelled.
Open the Tour Map and use this to add the GPS to your panoramas or if you panorama already have GPS use it to position the map pins more accurately.
You can start with the Satellite View to drag your images into.
You can also use the Tour Map to set your heading, North in all your panoramas.
But Google use the Road Map for its position in Maps, so check with both maps.
The Satellite map is slightly offset from the Road Map, so if possible use the road map for your final adjustments.
You can also geolocate a floor plan to maps which would give you precise GPS inside the buildings.
You can use the Tour Map for linking, this will ensure the best results.
Note: That even though you can manually position the point Hotspots, when uploaded to Google, they will use the GPS data from the images, so it is best to use this when creating the links, when you select a Point Hotspot make sure it is locked, this means it is position by GPS.
Open the Street View panel and log in to your account.
Select the Place ID, this is the location of the tour using the pencil button (1).
Then copy the place to all panoramas using the copy button (2).
If you have levels add them here, note, you only need to add tags to the panoramas that need to show the level icons in Google Maps (3).
And when you are ready, upload the project using the Upload Project button (4).
Pano2VR will then display some information, something like x number of images not found in your street view account, it will upload x number of images to your street view account and some other information. If you see anything like hotspot not place correctly then go back and correct the errors first.
Once uploaded, you can open the Street View Browser.
You may see red crosses under Map Status, this is showing Maps Rejected. This happens as Google will probably still be processing the information, just select the Refresh button. You will see your images turn to green checkmarks (1). If you still see red crosses, log into your Google Maps account and look under your contributions and photos. They will have a small warning triangle, select this to find out more about why your images have been maps rejected.
You should also see the green linked icon and more importantly the Place ID, place name next to each panorama (2).
If some are missing, select the Refresh button again to see if they come in.
If not select the Upload Project button again.
Wait a few minutes and select Refresh again.
What happens is even though Pano2VR send up all the data, Google sometimes does not process it all on the first upload.
So it can be you need to select the upload project button more than once or twice, each time waiting a few minutes and selecting Refresh.
At some point all images will get the name.
If your Street View Browser has all the names and green icons, then you know Google has all your data as this is where Pano2VR gets this information from.
You just need to wait for Google to process the information to display it in Maps which can take a while, normally 24 hours and a bit longer if you have levels.
Please note, if you have any issues with uploading to Street View, please make sure you have followed the instructions to the letter.
For example, if you have been using 14K width images and now you get issues, regardless of how long it has been working, change it to the Google recommended size, does it work.
With rejected images, blur out faces and registration plates, and check your logo for size and content.
The same with links, make sure all links are using the GPS, again it may be you have been manually placing them for along time, but now no links are in your tours.
Please make sure you follow this before you post that Street View is not working, sounds obvious, but we do see projects built incorrectly.
