This is my first Virtual Tour - well, more of a virtual afternoon's walk.

Can you help Beta test the links. They are numbered CW1-7 top right to bottom left.

I'm not happy with the Google Maps - suggestions, please?

The pans are low res - to speed things up. The sound is turned off.

Thanks,

John

Climb down to rocks - pops a new window.

I didn't test the whole tour as the load speeds were slow.

Thanks for your reply.

I take it you mean the text 'Clamber over the rocks' which appears when you hover over the red circle.

It's a hotspot, an alternative method of navigation and is supposed to load the next panorama.

I don't understand the slowness though, they are relatively small files.

John

The tour looks good, i like the use of the mirrorball thumbs on the map too. Load up times for me was about 5-6 sec's on a 10mb line so maybe try to play around with the output file size for full page. you can lower the res on the tiles too for the ground shot that might help. :)

At the beginning I had some troubles finding how to navigate; I see 1 hotspot to climb up which load the next panorama; At the second panorama I only see a hotspot to climb down. It took me some time before I realized I had to press the info button to get the map.

On the map I see a link to Google earth and wiki; pressing one of those and you will leave the panorama beceause google/wiki is opened into the same window. (If you add a _blank into the target field a new window is opened).

Thanks.

I used _blank on the first (non-panorama-cognizanti) trial and they didn't like the extra windows.

What do you do to keep everyone happy?

Regards,

John

P.S.

a couple of almost snow scenes from yesterday:

Yes, in our local Texas newspapers had reports of London snow fall.
Looks like you got some snow too.

Those look to COLD for me.

In Texas we get 2 weeks of winter. Next week Spring starts.
