I shot some panoramas last week in the Highlands of Scotland. One was of a walk up 'Cull Beag' amongst a few others in Assynt.

The summit of Cul Beag does appear on Google Maps, along with other people's photos and reviews. Here is what it looks like:

So it is definitely 'a place' known to Google Maps.

When I am in the Pano2VR project and trying to set the 'place' in the Google Street View tab Cul Beag doesn't show up:

I've tried searching with the Google Map button:

To find the Green Pin as suggested in another post, but with no success.

Any ideas?

Thanks

An Update...

I checked the settings in Pano2VR v7.0.2 and my Google API key wasn't entered in the Advanced Tab. So I added my Key from a while ago.

I can now see the 'Green Flag' in the project Tour Map:

But in the Google Street View Tab > Place, the summit name still does not show up... It's exactly the same as before :(
No listing for Cùl Beag.png

Hope someone can help out with this soon :D

Hi,
Try Google Place ID finder: https://developers.google.com/maps/docu ... eid-finder
You can copy the place ID into Pano2VRs’s search field.

Thanks, yes I've used that in the past, but forgotten about it!

Here is the summit on the Place ID finder map:

Does this look ok in Pano2VR? I just get the code, not the name as well.

After editing the place in the project and uploading to Google, I guess it may take some time to update the nodes on Google Maps. Or would it be better to delete the project from Google Maps and re-upload?

Hi,
You do not need to delete the project, once you have made the change to teh Place ID, save the project file, then use teh Upload Project button, it will say no images will be uploaded and it will upload teh metadata with teh new Place ID.
Give it 10 minutes and open your Street View Browser and locate teh image, do you see teh new Place ID, if not select refresh, thne use teh Upload Project button again.

Yes, managed to be a bit patient and whenever I edit links or places then upload, the changes will show-up eventually in Google Maps 👍🏻. Even the place id, a list of letters and numbers, change to the proper name text after some time.

Google Maps in the past didn’t seem to have too many ‘non-commercial’ points, but they seem to be a bit better now.
