Is there a way to just have a bit of text over an embedded video so I can say "click on X to see the video". I have tried some skins but they just seem to put the text in random places and they are anchored to one point in the tour?
thanks

Hi Danny,
Take a look at this webinar: https://ggnome.com/gg_webinars/skin-edi ... -and-size/
It may have all the answers.

This doesn't seem to cover the topic I need. The video - which is very helpful for something else I want to do in the tour :-) talks about anchoring a responsive item within the skins.

I am looking to just have 2 words hover above somebody in the tour that do not move from that person even when the viewer moves the viewpoint (so the words can't be seen if the viewer isnt looking at the that part of the tour with the person in it).
Does that make sense?

thanks

Danny

Hi Danny,
You can use a point hotspot to do this and the set a pan angle using the logic blocks to when the hotspot should show, so mak visible between pan angle xxx and xxx.
See the attached project, note the text box has an Alpha logic block. You can also add another condition to only work with a set node.

Thanks for the help - it a great idea on how to do it.... but still can't get it to show up!

I've looked at your sample. I have copied your settings generally and added logic blocks to either side of the point with a decent amount of space either side so it should show up easily but nothing appears. Can you see anything

Still haven't got this working - thought this would potentially do it : https://ggnome.com/wiki/floating-tooltip/ but its obviously old and things have changed.

The sticking point was that "Set Text" on the "Mouse Enter" Action doesn't exist in the drop down menu any more. Has it been moved somewhere else?

Hi Danny,
The action was changed to Set Value as you can set tag to cloners and all sorts of other things.
So as an example, Mouse Enter, Set Value, "your text", Text 1

Just to check the understanding.
Should the text show when you just pan the node around and the video comes into view or should it show when you mouse over the pinned video?

Or if you add the video, Pano2VR should have asked do you want a preview image, you could add text to the preview image. So when the video is not playing you should see the preview image and the message.

Hi Hopki,
I'll give that a go now - thanks.

I'm not bothered if the text comes up as you pan around or when you hover the cursor over the embedded video. Either will work for me. Just want to get something working....
