Hi All,

I have noticed that when a tour is opened in a browser window and you leave this window but let it stay opened in the background for a while, the tour isn't working anymore. By "not working" I mean that the images are not shown and the functions like rotate the image, open menus and so on are not working anymore.

Is there anything I can do, that the tour stays active, also in the background?
Best Regards,
Benjamin

Hi Benjamin,
I see this with Safari on the Mac, I think its a power-saving thing, not seen this in any other browser.
Not seen it on the PC, so be interested in your platform and browser.

With regards to "I mean that the images are not shown". Not seen this, what do you mean exactly?

Hopki

Hi Hopki,

I have experienced this situation with mac and windows. With both systems I exclusively used google chrome browser.
I have attached you an image which shows the situation I mentioned as "... the images are not shown". I also attached an image where you can see what happens when you rotate the tour in this state.

Hi Benjamin,
This is new to me, what I have seen is the panorama freezes.
Does it happen using one of the examples on our website?
Does it happen with panoramas that use point hotspots or just the 3D Arrows?
You have said you use Chrome, do you have a link so I can open the same panorama?

Are you using fullscreen, does it happen just in the fullscreen or normal screen as well?

Send me a link to one of your tours that has this issue, then forward me the steps to reproduce the issue.
I am asking as I can. not reproduce with Chrome, the version I am using is: Version 79.0.3945.117 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Hi Hopki,

I tested it yesterday on a windows machine. It happened there using my own tour and also using one of your examples. Because it happened also with one of your tours (without 3D arrows) I can say that it happened with 3D arrows and also with point hotspots.

Here's a link to my tour: https://transfer.baden360.de/pugilist_dash/
Here's a link to your tour, with which I tested it also: https://ggnome.com/samples/pano2vr_5/tower/

I use Chrome Version 79.0.3945.117.

I have not used full screen. I just opened a tour in a tab and then changed the view to another tab. After some time (more than 2 hours) I changed the view back to the tab with the tour and got the result I posted in the earlier post.
Best Regards,
Benjamin

Hi Benjamin
So the steps to reproduce are:
• Open Chrome
• Navigate to a panorama and open
• Open a new tab
• Wait over 2 hours and tab back to the panorama

Questions:
• At any point, does the screen saver come in during the 2 hours?
• Does the computer go into sleep mode during the 2 hours

Hopki

Hi Hopki,

yes the steps you mentioned are correct.
No screensaver and no sleep mode. But I locked the the computer few times, because I had to go away from the desk.
Best Regards,
Benjamin
