Hi,
Ok I see the problem, I used the default skin canvas size.
If you change the size then the X Y settings will be wrong.
I'll add a how to fix for different sized canvases.
Well spotted

There is something I'm missing.

I thought that the latest P2VR player (v. 6.1.1) would automatically (on a smartphone) prompt the user to enable the gyro.

But it doesn't work for me:

https://allaroundnevada.com/wp-content/ ... /combined/

I thought the the "gyro view prompt" would work, but it seems that it merely tells the user to try panning the phone.

The "enter VR" button DOES prompt for the user's gyro access, but if you don't want to use a HMD, you must first quit the VR view. Only then will the gyro be enabled for the standard view on the phone.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

Hi Howard,
You can’t do it automatically.
You need to show the button and the user has to click it.
Also when I opened the link on my iPhone I saw the graphic at the bottom of the screen.

Thanks, Hopki.

I understand how that works (w/the Enter VR button) for a HMD.

But... what's the process for enabling the gyro for the normal (Non-HMD) view on the phone, with the user able to animate the VR just by moving the phone.

Hi Howard,
It will be the same as the gyro button.
You see the message when you use the WebVR button as it needs to use the Gyro.
Using the gyro button should show the same dialogue box.

Ah ha.

I get it now. I've inserted the "Gyroscope Silhouette" component, and it works perfectly.

https://allaroundnevada.com/wp-content/ ... /combined/

So... NOW, do I need to go back to every pano I've authored and re-do the output using this skin element so that the gyro will function properly on a phone?

Can't this button functionality (please) be made a part of the player? Then, using a centralized player w/the WordPress plugin, we can be spared hours and hours of work.

Thanks,

Howard
