Hi,
We should be releasing an update soon that fixes this.
Looking at WebVR
iOS worked ok
Android did not play ball

We have made some modifications and with testing, I can confirm this works well with Android Chrome and Firefox.
We have one or two other things we want to include in this update so once done it will be released.
Regards,
Hopki

Hey that's great news!

So little people were posting about this I was beginning to think that it was just a sporadic issue. Thanks for all your help Hopki!

Hi,
I was bussy with the ground work so I didn't check the newest update... is it about the topics issue? If so, do we need to compile the whole project or just to change the player?

The issue with the back screen after clicking on the VR mode on mobile devices has been resolved. I am not sure if you have to compile the entire tour, I did and everything works as it should now.

I needed to compiled the whole tour (ouch) and it works fine in all known browsers except in Chrome. I don't have https as I technicaly can not get it as my official name is to long for eg. Digicert database ( quite a long story with local US databases and local languages compatibility ... waiting for EU approal when it comes). Chrome is less popular as people are banning Google services so not such a problem.

Maybe someone with Chrome browser on mobile device (iPhone, iPad) would check the cardboard mode please: http://www.burger.si/KSA/360/KSA.html (it is a safe connection as it is on Academic Server but not https)

As an FYI,
In the news, Google has announced it has dropped VR from its new phones and the Pixel 4 will not support the Daydream headset.
If this has also effected Mobiel chrome I don't know.
On my Pixel 3 test handset, Chrome does not work but Chrome developer does.
Firefox is ok.

Hi Hopki,

What does this actually mean for Pano2vr users? Could you bullet point some specifics? Thanks!

Hi,

Because your domain does not have SSL certificate (https) gyroscope does not work so cardboard mode is unfortunately useless. From what I understand, if your url does not have an SSL then gyroscope will not work on mobile devices when using Chrome.

Unfortunately there is nothing I can do regarding the https unless I change my legal status name which e.g. Digicert database can not enter or support.

However... WebVR mode works but althought I have very fast server and internet connection the loading of the images is very slow and it is lagging.
Can someone provide her//his own url so I can check how does it work comparing to mine with the same internet access situation?

SSL certificates are now extremely easy to get via https://letsencrypt.org/ , and they are free! Most hosting companies allow this with just a checkbox. Hetzner (our hoster) even offers DigiCert for free, with just a simple checkbox.
You can try our examples: Most of them have VR buttons https://ggnome.com/pano2vr/examples .

It is not issue being free or paid but that my legal name which owns the domain names is to long. Eg. Digicert tema suggested me even to change my name (insane).

I checked the links and are with less lagging that mine - but still "a bit". The deafault jpg compression is 90% but I use 95%. The 95% is because previously I prepared images for headsets (cardbord or Orbx) with 7000x3500 pix and 95% compression and that worked fuently for a couple of years - and I prepared images with full size for desktops spreately.
When p2VR implemented the option of Web VR I use full size images (from 15000x7500 up to 50000x25000) but still 95% compression.
I guess that the lagging is realted to file size or compression (?).

Let’s Encrypt doesn’t use your company name or anything. The only validate that you have access to the hosting... As long as you can put a file in a directory you can get a cert.

I did it with only few months validation althought the Digicert was recommended by Academic Reserch Network but at least have https now. To get the full verification certification (2 years) the name was needed. It is interesting that it displays not full security due the mixed content (?) >

Yesterday we converted from HTTP to HTTPS on all pages on our site.

Only issue was to clear the browser cache on all browsers you use.
Otherwise you sometimes look at old cached pages.
