Hi, here is a project I'm working on https://360.articulate.com/review/conte ... 63d/review
As you can see in the first slide, some of the hotspots have the "3d distortion enabled" and some don't. This setting makes the objects appear more integrated into the background, so I want to use it for all my hotspot templates. However, this doesn't allow me to correct the perspective to match the images to their place in the setting. As you can see on some of the square objects, they don't line up with the perspective of the wall they're supposed to be attached to, so they look "flat" against the wall and match the door frames, etc. Is there a way to set the distortion angle initially for these hotspot template images like you can with the "image" type?
Thanks!

Hi
In the 3D setting use, use the 3D distance to change the distance of the pinned image.

Thanks! I did use the distance method to get some of the objects to look better in context. Unfortunately, this only seems to work if the image is placed on a background that's directly perpendicular to the line of sight. If it's placed off to the left or right when you're viewing a wall that's perpendicular, then the perspective needs to be skewed. For example, see the "medical gas shutoff" hotspot in the second slide of this example https://360.articulate.com/review/conte ... 63d/review
Is there a way to rotate that image to the right horizontal manually, so that the 3D distortion's base state is rotated on the X coordinate in a positive direction a certain number of degrees, and distorts more from there? It think it could possibly be done with modifiers, but there's only "rotate" there, I just need a setting there for X rotation.
If this is not possible, I'll probably need to just skew in photoshop before placing the image. Is that the best solution?
Thanks!

Hi,
Ok, then why not add them as a pinned image where you can resize, rotate etc.
Then you can "paint" a poly hotspot over it.
Then you can use a container in the skin to link the poly hotspot to the skin to trigger sounds etc.
You're looking for Hotspot Proxy ID in the documents and also lots of posts in the forum.

OK I didn't think of that, painting a transparent poly hotspot over the image. That's why you're the boss! Thanks.
