Hi folks,

I decided to create a new design of a loader bar and it appears that elements don't seem to listen to the Loading Modifier anymore. As a test I added the loader from the Toolbox to my skin. In the preview it works all fine, but uploaded to my server, the loader immediately goes from 0% to 100%. I think this is a newly introduced bug, as the loader of this tour works fine: https://okijk.nl/projecten/euc (see upper right corner). I thought I created this tour with Pano2VR5.

Kind regards,

Dennis

Hi Dennis,
I just made a test project and limited the number of multi resolution tiles and I see the load bar.
As a FYI in V6 if an image is below 5k its coded inline with the skin.js file so not an actual PNG or JPG to load.
This is what you may be seeing, but of course this is just a guess.

Hopki

Hi Hopki,

I will check if reducing the number of multi resolution tiles is the solution.

With regard to the FYI part: I've seen that. Can it be disabled to make small images not part of the skin file again? Currently it makes reuising images and slightly adjusting them over projects a bit difficult.

Cheers,

Dennis

Hi Dennis,
Do you not have the images already and in the skin?
I don't understand why you need to dig them out of the output folder.
This is a major step forward in terms of performance.

Hi Hopki,

I reuse skin elements again and again. If I want to change some graphical skin elements I now find it hard to retreive the original source project where the element was first used. I used to just pick the element from the last image output folder, but now I can't do this anymore. I know it asks for a new (probably better) workflow. But still, old-style might be handy from time to time. It would be nice to have some kind of functionality to extract or export images or export images from the skin.

In the meanwhile I did not manage to tackle the loading bar problem and decided to drop it for now.

Hi Dennis,
If you have the skin, .ggsk file the images are in here.
It's just on export if the image is under 5KB they get written inline in the skin.js file.

Grab your ggsk file, change the extension from ggsk to .zip.
Unzip and bingo all your images will be there.

Ok not from the output folder but you can access the images.
Is this a workable solution?

Hi Hopki,

I can't believe it's just that simple and I didn't think of it myself. It works, many thanks!
