Hey Everyone!

UPDATE BELOW! - EFFECTING ALL TOUR VIDEOS

This issue must currently only be a regional issue because I am amazed to see that no one else is being effected.

Chrome has seemingly released an update that is effecting the way Pano2VR plays with it. Regardless of whether or not the videos are set to autoplay. The videos DO NOT play.

The only way I have been able to get any of the videos to play in Chrome on multiple devices is to go to chrome://flags/#autoplay-policy in the Chrome browser and change the autoplay policy to "No user gesture is required".

As I have said, this has been tested and verified on multiple computers and multiple mobile devices. None of the videos will play unless the Chrome policy is changed.

AM I THE ONLY ONE EXPERIENCING THIS????

Here is a video to show what I am talking about https://youtu.be/ZkbKreuwQEE

Hi Hopki,

As I stated over here viewtopic.php?f=6&t=13335

and created a video here to show what is going on here https://youtu.be/ZkbKreuwQEE

the autoplay is not turned on but I forgot to add that bit of important information here to this post. Again, tested on multiple devices with multiple "were working fine until yesterday" tours running over multiple servers.

Also, here are a couple o the example tests I created with video's autoplay turned off:

Amazon S3 server: https://s3.amazonaws.com/autoplay-off-demo/index.html
HostGator server: http://mtwas.com/wp-content/autoplay-of ... index.html

Notice that if you open the URL's in Opera, FF, IE or any other browser aside from Chrome, that the videos are NOT on autostart and that you have to manually INTERACT with the videos by clicking on them in order to get them to play and pause.

Have also noticed TONS of other individuals using Chrome complaining about the same issue of their embedded video no longer playing in Chrome within the last few hours.

Google Chrome also had a major version update yesterday 12/14/2018 which was supposed to only be for the current development channel, but who knows how and when they actually test these things publicly or even in what regions they test on to be sure they don't have a major flaw and are able to quickly roll back before full implementation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Ch ... on_history

I could be completely out of my mind with all of this but after having numerous friends try the exact same tours that were saved in their browser history and 100% of them saying that the videos no longer play.....I believe I am right :-)

Nope, I was right.

RECONFIRMED IT"S A CHROME ISSUE 100%

I uninstalled chrome and installed the last chrome version from here https://www.slimjet.com/chrome/download ... 59.181.exe and viola! It is 100% last nights Chrome browser update that is causing the issue.

Here is the video showing me installing the previous chrome version where the tours still worked.

For anyone following,
Yes a Chrome update broke the pinned video playback but we have made some changes which will correct the problem.
This will happen in the next release which is coming soon.

Hmmmmm......

Something is amiss. This issue is presenting itself again but intermittently and it is driving me absolutely bonkers.

I have a pinned video file. I have a pinned audio file. Both files are set to loop at -1. I have the tour set up with a splash screen. When the user clicks on the splash screen to close it, I have both video and audio set to play and loop at 0.

I am getting really confusing results on mobile devices. PC works as expected.....mobile.....not so much depending on the device.

On one mobile device everything works fine using Chrome and on the other, the video and audio do not play. However.....on ALL other browsers everything works as expected.

Chrome has become a pain in the ass.

So I spent all day today troubleshooting this lingering issue.

It is still definitely a Chrome issue. On 4 out of 7 mobile devices the pinned video and audio worked as it should. On the other 3 devices, pinned video and audio did not work at all, not even with a button to play them. This is only an issue in Chrome. Just as before, all video and audio ARE NOT set to autoplay.

However, this is also a SKIN issue. If I remove the skin then the pinned video plays just fine......though the audio will not play no matter how I try to circumnavigate the browsers intellect :-) If I add the skin back, the video stops playing, but not on all of the devices....it stops on only 3 of them and only when using Chrome.

As before, the video and audio plays as expected on all other browsers.

Any news of I definitive fix for this issue? I have tested using Chrome on several other devices and it works on some of them but others it does not. It is still the pinned audio and video that seem to be having problems.

It's a very frustrating and time robbing issue because as you are creating the tour and testing, it is not immediately apparent whether the issue is something I have configured incorrectly or if this is simply a chrome incompatibility issue. A lot of time is wasted quadruple checking the code before finding that the problem has to do with the browser.

Hi,
We have done some more work with this and in the next release we have changed how video can start.
The Auto-Start Start Muted works with Chrome and Safari, on pano click you get the audio as the restrictions are to do with sound.

Even with this deselected I see the video play with audio on first click in the pano, tested with Chrome on the desktop.

We have more to do with mobiles though as Chrome on iPhone is different again.

Hi Hopki,

Yeah, everything works fine on desktop. Like I said it's just an issue randomly on some mobile devices. I have access to 9 different mobile devices in my house (when everyone is home) and can say for sure that it works on some but not others. The devices range from a Galaxy S9 Plus, to a Nexus 10.
