Is there a step by step tutorial for doing the navigation for this google tour pano? I know it is done in Pano2VR...

Hi,
Have a look at this page and scroll to Google Street View.
The trick is never set hotspots in the viewer, always use the location data and North setting to position them, then you can link them.

I am using an Insta360pro with a GPS dongle or an Insta360 one X...In both situations, I am getting GPS data, so usually no problem with that.... but in the first video on Google Maps, it says to look for a landmark, and choose the tower. It is not explained why the tower is facing north! Aside from this, how would you handle something like a path in the woods if there was no GPS, and even if there is GPS, I understand that it is not that accurate.

Hi,
It is not important that you are facing north.
What you are doing is synicronising the view in the pano with the beam in the map.
This by default will set North in the pano.

What is probably better and faster is to use the "N" keyboard key.

Example, rotate you pano until you see a reference you can also see in the Tour Map. Using the viewers centre mark or grid will help.
Align this reference in the centre of the viewer.
Now press and hold the "N" key.
You should now see the compass in the viewer. Now click and drag the pano in the viewer, the pano won't move but the compass will rotate.
All you do now is align Tour Maps beam so it is also facing the same direction as the pano.

Thanks,
Do you have an example of what a Pano2VR tour looks like when displayed by Google. I am particularly interested in how a room to room tour looks like.
