Hello,

I just wanted to test the linux version of the new V6 beta (using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS). It did start (using the .sh file and start it via terminal window) and seems to work as the Win version.
But I can't find the Simplex skin in the Linux version, just silhuette and cardboard. The simplex file is missing in the skins-folder.
Other problem:
If I open the html-file generated by the linux-version, the window remains black. It seemed that it started the player (I get a "created with pano2vr" when i do a right-click) but no pics and no skin is loaded. The html-files generated by the Win and the linux-version are exactly the same. But the xml-file generated by the linux-version is different from that generated by the Win-version. Confusing ....
reagrds,
Bernd

Hi Bernd,
The Simplex_v6 skin will be added later.
However if you download V5 you should see the Simplex skin.
Or are you saying you have V5 but no Simplex skin?
Also Pano not showing in browser, can you give us a bit more information such as how are you opening the output, which browser etc.
Regards,
Hopki

Hello Hopki,

I opened the output in Firefox (newest version 60.0). Either by double-clicking the .html-file within the Windows explorer or within Firefox, using the menu "open file". But that doesn't make any diference - in both cases the screens remains black.
If your are interested, I could send you the whole output folder by mail.
best regards,
Bernd

Hello,

any news from the developers regarding the black screen problem?
I just tried the linux version of 6.0 beta3. The simplex skin was added now, but I still have this black screen when
I open the output file in my browser. Just black, no skin buttons and no pano.

Hi Bernd,
Just checking are you directly opening the HTML page from the output folder or using the Open Output button in Pano2VR?
If your directing opening the HTML page then try Firefox as the browsers have local file restrictions and to my knowledge only Firefox and MS Edge are teh only browsers that will open the HTML page directly.
Opening using Pano2VR will then use the built in web server and should show ok.
Let me know,
Hopki

Hello Hopki,

excuse me for responding a bit late …
Unfortunately it doesn‘t work in both cases.
If I use the „open output“ function within Pano2VR it does not open an internal browser but wants to open Firefox and I get an error message (in the terminal window) as follows: „Running Firefox as root in a regular user's session is not supported“
If I open the output file manually I have this black screen as described above – with any browser on any operating system.

Hi Bernd,
Can I ask what language you have set Pano2VR for or what your OS is using if Pano2VR is set for system default.
Also is it possible for you to send your output folder or even just your .xml file.

Hopki

Hi Hopki,

this black screen issue has gone now with beta5. Everything seems to work ok, also opening Panos generated by older versions. Thanks for your support.
