Hi

I've created a new, long form, tutorial that show how to build a skin that loads a PDF file in popup hotspot and automatically scales the PDF as the browser window scales.

Update: 15/10/18 - Thanks to Hopki, for his solution to the PDF issue. I've updated the tutorial to include this option.

Note: at this time the option to load an original PDF file into a hotspot is only available on the desktop. I’ll be posting an alternative ‘Mobile’ friendly addendum to this tutorial shortly.

There are a full set of tutorial files and the tutorial takes you step-by-step through the modification of an ht_info hotspot template to achieve the pdf presentation.

Comments and feedback welcomed.

Okay, seems as though there is a big issue opening a PDF file into an HTML page. Basically you can't!! or at least I haven't found a way. If anyone has any tips I'd love to hear them.

My alternative is a mobile friendly high res jpg, created by exporting the pdf as jpg's, and implemented using the workflow covered in my tutorial https://tonyredhead.com/pano2vr/hotspot ... reen-image

I've used the 'isMobile' trigger to show either the pdf version or the jpg version.

Here's the result: https://s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com ... index.html

Hi Hopki,

Okay, on my Samsung S8, clicked on the hotspot and it resulted in an automatic download of the pdf in a new window. Whas that the intended outcome?

Good alternative to reformatting it in HTML. I'll add it to the tutorial

cheers,

Tony

Hi Tony,
Yes, so on desktop you get the inline window but on mobile you get a new window for the PDF, so its still readable. :D
