For what its worth.

Business application:
Panorama is about your clients product.
Visual obstructions of their product images only distracts their customers view could result in loss of panorama sales.

Personal application:
Visual Distraction like snow and others.. might be ok for fun.

I disagree that it would not be useful for business application. But it depends on what you're trying to sell.

Lens flares also partly obstruct the product image but they add a lot to the experience. Snow can do the same in images that are suitable for it, panoramas of a ski resort for example. It's use is much more limited though.
But the motion of snow (just like the dynamic aspect of lensflares and surround audio for example) can give the impression of a live scene, and make it less obvious that it's 'just' a still image and thus enhancing the experience. In VR this results in much more 'immersion', here a panorama with snow really adds a 'wow-effect' that can surely boost sales in certain cases.

Apart from that, it's business as soon as a client asks: 'Can you make a nice 360 experience with a winter panorama of my business, as a digital Christmas Card?'
But I'll admit I'm still waiting for that client... :D

I really like this. Of course it'll only be used around Christmas but it's perfect for a few 360 ideas.

Please add Snow in Pano2VR. Just because someone in Texas doesn't like snow we europeans do! I made an snowy example last week for my company based on KrPano and everyone likes it:

Keep on programming the snow...

LOLLLL.. We like snow. We do get snow here in Texas 1 or 2 times each year. Snow stays on ground for about 2 days... then melts and goes away.

If we want more snow... we fly to a place up North... stay a few days and fly back home.

Snow for us is usually in January. Will try taking a panorama for show and tell.
