Trying to be but it's difficult especially when clients are commenting and asking why. It's easy to say/blame it on an Apple software update but the responsibility to deliver what they expect unfortunately still stops with us.

From your comments you have a better understanding of the road map for Pano2VR V5 than I do so I'll defer to your knowledge. I took a look at the bug report but couldn't see anything that directly related to the the jitter or iframe auto resize issues and I can't log in to the report to post so by default this is the avenue for me to show what I've found.

Personally I hope that both V4.5.3 and V5 get updates to resolve these issues. I've been using Pano2VR for many years now and I certainly wouldn't want to leave it.

cheers,

Tony

I'm also getting flicker problems since I upgraded to latest iOS on iPhone 6.

It happens with older v4 Pano2VR 360's as well as new ones v5 so this must be an Apple iOS software issue.

Probelm is, buck stops with us until it's fixed. It totally ruins the experience ... Must be something to do with iOS rendering engine.

Happens in Safari and Chrome ... Usually Chrome is fabulous, wish it were the default web browser app for iOS but it ain't ! :/

So can this be formally noted by Apple as we need it fixing and we simply can't rerender all our 360's now the iOS is updated. :!: :!: :!:

THIS IS HUGELY IMPORTANT TO ALL OF US !!!

I've officially reported the bug to Apple ... I suggest everyone else who sees this flickering issues reports it too.

It's even worse in VR output (Google Cardboard) HTML5 with split screen view. Basically unusable.

https://idmsa.apple.com/IDMSWebAuth/log ... =true&rv=3

You just use your existing Apple ID but may also need to regiester it as a developer ... just a few clicks.

It seems to be affecting most Apple iOS but not all, regardless of whether the 360 is embedded in iFrame or not. All browsers - Safari, Chrome, Firefox etc.

This needs to be recognised and fixed asap so please assist and report.

Incidentally ... the web link problem disappears and I get no flickering issues if I "Add To Home Screen" via Safari on my iPhone and run link from home screen.

Have also advised this to apple in developer forum.

Rebooted my iPad still seeing the same issue. Check out http://tonyredhead.com/rome-station/fast-train I have started migrating published panoramas to KRpano until a fix from Pano2VR or Apple (whoever gets there first), see http://tonyredhead.com/velimir-stanic/in-the-studio no flickering, no autoresize iframe issues.

Not sure if you are referring to me or NitromanX but the files I'm using are multiresolution exported from Pano2VR!

Hello Tony,

I have a really hard time to reproduce your flickering. I can see it maybe once in a minute on an iPad Air. My iPhone 7 doesn't show it at all. I am now updating an old iPad 4 to iOS 10... lets hope I have better luck there. The flickering is clearly an iOS bug, but maybe I can find a workaround.

Hi Thomas ! I mentioned i think it's iOS issue to Martin - see above posts in this thread.

It flickers on my iPhone 6 and very bad in VR mode for Google Cardbaord using Stare skin.

I've reported to Apple Dev Forum too ...

Hi Thomas, how are you. Got to love software updates - NOT!

Did you see the videos I linked to on my earlier posts, you can see the issue quite clearly on them.

I'm running an iPad Air 2 and the flickering is quite prevalent especially when the panorama is displayed in an iFrame. Most of my work is delivered using Pano2VR and multires tiles through iFrames so you can see my concern. The flickering however is only one of the issues with iFrames in iOS 10, the other is the fact that the iFrame, after rotating the iPad/iPhone through 180˚ doesn't auto resize back but retains it's larger size resulting in the menu being half off the viewing screen.

This is evident with Pano2VR files displayed in an iFrame but for some reason not with my RoundMe projects or panoramas created using KRPano Droplets?

I have no doubt that it's an iOS bug! As I can also see the same issues of flickering with my RoundMe projects and I've already been in touch with their developers and they are looking into it. Once again I do not see any of the flickering issues with KRPano projects. I did read in the KRPano forum that the version 1.19pr8 has some fixes in it for iOS 10.

Hmm, not sure what panos you are looking at?

I put this in an iFrame and when I view it on the iPad Air 2 it's flickering quite a bit. Check it out at http://tonyredhead.com/svendustest

Also on the iPad Air 2 I couldn't get the audio to stop.

I have seen the video, and this looks very reproducible. In my "lab" I had a hard time to create those conditions... but after 1hr I had it working (=failing).
I think I have found a work around.
Can you please replace you pano2vr_player.js file with the attached file and see if this solves the flicker issue?

You are right Tony it is horrible even with the new pano2vr_player when embedded

Do this embedded panorama with the Sawmill flickers on your device ?
it runs nicely here iPhone6 iPad 4 iOS 10.0.2!

Code: Select all
