Sorry for not getting back on this but I haven't had a chance to try anything for the last couple of days. In short, the security rights for the application are set as Svendus mentioned. I'm running Microsoft security (No McAfee) and I've tried running Pano2VR 5 as administrator. No registry cleaning or booster applications running. Seems to have only done this with the update to Windows 10 because it was working fine with Windows 7 under the same configuration. However, I remember having this problem at one time while using a beta version of Pano2VR 5. Can't remember if I did something to fix it or if a new version fixed it. It's been awhile.
Dave, have you tried opening Pano2VR5 and immediately going to File > Save and seeing if you can save a blank project? If you can, next try immediately opening one of your existing projects and see if you have the same issues after opening it.
Thanks,
Tony

Please add to my TRIAL AND ERR List:
Open Pano2vr 5.0.2 and closed the suggested list. Then took a blank project and SAVE AS and it went to the files and folders Explorer... and immediately abnormally ended ERR and program closed.
For an existing project:
I can make changes and the use the Keyboard "CTRL S" and successfully save the project.
I can also double click to change a filename like "168.jpg" then CTRL S save. Just can not click [Blue folder icon] browse using the Files Explorer.

Same here but try this:
If you have the Welcome screen set to show upon starting Pano2VR 5, close it when it appears then go straight to File > Save (NOT "Save as...") and see if you're able to enter a file name and save the blank project. THEN try to do a File > Open and open an existing project.

Please add this approach to our TRAIL and ERR... now mostly ERR's Listing
Ok... did as you asked.
Started 5.0.2
Closed the Welcome screen
Went directly to "SAVE"
[Observed that it was trying to SAVE to Microsoft OneDrive Not sure why... and not sure how to turn off pointing to OneDrive as we do not trust the MS Cloud storage space.
Our save drive is our external USB F:\ work or E:\backup drives]
End result was: Abnormal End and program close.
Oh Sigh ........ Thank you for helping

OK..
Thanks to this forum thread, I am learning about how to post .mp4 movies on our website.
When you visit this page USING CHROME WEB BROWSER, scroll down and look at 2nd row to see "2016 Pano2vr 5.0.2"
Then click/tap Buttons [Big] to make the view port larger, then [play/pause the .mp4] if not already started
This is a 30 sec [47mb] .mp4 movie taken with my smart phone Galaxy 7s.
I am demonstrating:
Clicking on the Pano2vr version 5.0.2 desktop icon to open the program
I close the welcome panel
Mouse up the to OPEN [BLUE FOLDER ICON] which branches to the Windows 10 FILES and FOLDERS EXPLORER to select a file. Explorer OPENS and lists the contents of the folder
Followed 2 seconds by THE ERROR MESSAGE box which tells me that Pano2vr has Abnormally ENDED and after click the [Close] button it will then close the program.
THIS ERR occurs on EVERY [BLUE FOLDER ICON] I tried through out this entire program. IT DOES NOT extend to the work arounds for CTRL S or drag and drop.
I hope this helps understand this issue

OH and also take a look at Looking for Alligators. This is the other movie we took with the Theta S while recently in Florida. Its a short cut from a much longer .mp4. Only learning at this point.

You mean this for McAfee Quick Clean and below for McAfee Firewall. There are 2 Pano2vr's showing. 1 is for 5.0.2 and other is 4.5.3
We only have opportunity to select or deslect clean the: registry.
I was looking at the first time I had RECORDED SYSTEM ERRORS for Pano2vr 5.0.0.11650 > 21 September 2015.
Since 21 September 2015 I have had 195 SYSTEM ERRORS APP CRASH for Pano2VR 5.0x
I has been almost 1 year ... I probably can not return to before installation 5.0
I do know that Pano2vr 4.5.3 works ok today.

Set up the McAfee QuickClean tool
1 Open the McAfee QuickClean tool.
How?
a On the Feature Tiles page, click PC and Home Network Tools.
b Click QuickClean.
2 Click Settings, then select the items that you want to clean.
Hate to say it but our Finnish Anti Virus Provider F-Secure did sell a program like this f-secure-booster as an ad on
worse kind of thing they admitted that it was rubbish and did not follow it up
we had to make a new Windows installation from a Norton Ghost backup on that machine
Be aware of Register boost programs You should defiantly have Registory unchecked
