Hi there, As you know Facebook is now offering to display Pano's but they need to be embedded with suitable meta data. Does anyone know what to add to a Pano from Pano2vr to make this work?... and how to add it?
Thanks

It also seems like facebook will impliment this today
https://facebook360.fb.com/360-photos/
https://facebook360.fb.com/360-photos/
Here my first example FB pano post:
https://www.facebook.com/voicesfromthed ... =3&theater
And here's how to add the metadata using Photoshop on an equirectangular image:
http://www.panotwins.de/technical/how-t ... p-cc-2014/

And here's how to add the metadata using Photoshop on an equirectangular image:

Now it is very easy
As of yesterday Facebook now allows 360 panoramas as well as partial panoramas to be displayed in your Facebook time line.
Hopki told me just to drag the Equirectanqular Panorama image to the timeline
not using the Photo upload icon
and it is running with .jpg only not .tiff as it does on Google Maps

I got the meta data from here
https://developers.google.com/streetvie ... oto_sphere
I then opened photoshop, went to file info on an existing pano.
Exported the exif data.
Opened the exif data with a text editor.
add the example exif from the above link near the end of the file.
Saved the file
Now I can add the exif data to any pano, I do have to clear the existing exif data though.

Surely there's an easier way to add 360's to Facebook than faffing with the metadata and text editor code (but thanks Photospherix!) ?
I've tried adding the word pano and dragging and dropping but doesn't work with non Theta generated jpgs. Theta generated jpgs do work easy peasy tho'.
If i strip the Metadata from the Theta jpg (Save For Web "NO METADATA") it also doesn't work so it's simply a matadata thing.
Is there an app or Tool to inject metadata into spherical / equirectangular jpgs so we can add them to Facebook - such as with Google Video Metadata Inject Tool ? I'm amazed that Facebook have not given more info on this huge new feature. Tut Tut Facebook.

Just found PTGUI users (like most of us) are also having problems.
This is the PTGui Thread https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic ... 0hO-T-ofKk
... And here is the reason from Joost the big boss :
"Hi Atul,
Please try with a 360 x 180 degree equirectangular jpg image. Be sure to
use the image straight from PTGui, don't post process the image in
another application. And use the latest PTGui version (10.0.15).
This ensures that the gpano metadata is present in the image, and
apparently this is what Facebook are using to detect spherical
panoramas. You can verify if the gpano metadata is available by
uploading your panorama to http://metapicz.com/
You should see an 'XMP' section containing this:
ProjectionType equirectangular
UsePanoramaViewer 1
CroppedAreaImageWidthPixels xxxx
CroppedAreaImageHeightPixels yyyy
FullPanoWidthPixels xxxx
FullPanoHeightPixels yyyy
CroppedAreaLeftPixels 0
CroppedAreaTopPixels 0
StitchingSoftware PTGui Pro 10.0.15 (www.ptgui.com)
If this data is present but it still doesn't work then the problem must
be on Facebook's side.
Kind regards,

So what we need is a Metadata Injector for Photos ... anyone good at coding ?!
