Hi,

My biggest projects till now are virtual tours till around 150 panorama's and I never encountered problems with this amount of config files in the batch builder.
But now I'm converting a 2000+ tour (77 individual tours in one tour) to multi-resolution and I get a system crash in the process.

I don't know what exactly goes wrong but what I can think of is that there is some sort of memory leak that is using all the memory.

What I do is batch building more than 500 config files in one batch and spreading it over 4 available PC's (2 desktops en 2 laptops, all high-end Core i7 machines running windows 8.1 with at least 12Gb of memory)
All four machines crashed on a particular spot, around the 300th config file.

Am I pushing the physical limits of the capabilities of pano2vr or is there an other explanation.

The crash error is in dutch, but when I translate it freely it says something like "Close programs to avoid lost data: Your machine has insufficient memory available. Save your data and close these programs: Pano2VR - Panoramic Image Converter" an other window says "ismagent.exe - application error Cannot start application correctly (0xc000012d). Click on OK to close the application"

The same error on all machines .....

I've looked at one machine in more detail and found after this error a pano2vr process in the process manager taking up all the memory in the machine 12.835 MB ...

regards,

Arjan

Hi Arjan,
I have spoken with Thomas with regards to this he says yes looks like a memory leak, can you process smaller portions?
In the mean time Ill bug track it.

Big tour may be divided into several parts.
Each part must be the main scene with hotspots - which are linked with other parts via the direct link, like as:
/part2/index.html#node2
/part3/index.html#node27
/part4/index.html#nodeXX and etc.

BTW/ Also, it will be convenient for post-editing - for the parts is better then for big tour as a whole...

@Hopki ... ok thanks, I'll manage splitting it up a bit more in portions of 250 config files.

@hum@no.id .... I don't like the nodes within a config file. Having a config file per panorama adds a lot of flexibility for making tours.
1) I can split and join tours very easily by only joining or separating the panorama-config files and removing or adding hotspot-links.
2) I use a find and replace editor to alter functions and switches within the config file. I then have full control over all settings per panorama.
3) It is not possible to batch stitch several multi-node config files. An exercise like this, stitching 77 virtual tours with an average of 26 panorama's, is therefore very time consuming.
4) I can use different skins per panorama, when I want a menu in a tour folded out in only the first pano and in the other opening's unfolded, it's possible this way.

Ps: Here is the link to a big Virtual Tour I've just finished containing 75 individual tours in 1 big virtual tour. Total of 1500 panorama's ...

Arjan, if you don't mind telling us: What on earth are you making a virtual tour of that might entail 300+ panos?
An aircraft carrier? The death star? Not much input here, my largest tour upto now had 18 panorama's :)

Haha ... those places are on my whishlist :D

I'm working with some local tourist bureaus and I'm making virtual tours of their participants. These are businesses like hotels, restaurants, campsites, shops even a shipbuilder like Royal Huisman for instance.
All these tours are hosted on one server but with different entry photo's.

The biggest tour I've made is around 160 panorama's. You can think of a vacation resort renting several different lodges. We make a complete virtual tour in all lodge-types, swimming-pool, restaurant, toilets, entertainment areas,
all places that might be interesting to look at in front before booking. An example big vacation resort: http://www.skyfocus.nl/SkyFocus/Tours/R ... etenslagh/

Another category is an apartment complex in Catalonia Spain, they also wanted some surrounding places photographed that are accessible within a map-menu. http://www.skyfocus.nl/SkyFocus/Tours/L ... orreNova2/

And we also made for example a virtual tour of a theater in Amsterdam showing different settings. http://www.skyfocus.nl/SkyFocus/Tours/A ... m-Tobacco/

As you can see, it all adds up very quickly =)

Hi,
Here is the most multi node tour iv made, only because I used a Theta.
Hit the Map button and you need to zoom in to see all the nodes close together.
This was a cool way to recored me and the bread knife's trip to Jersey.
