Hi there ! Good to be back ! I took a long break from Pano2VR.
I am trying to update some old panoramas to HTML5.

The original tours and individual panoramas were done in 2.3.4, maybe 3.x.
I do have a key for 3.0, in my records. But I can't remember if I really used it.

Q1. Should I have any problems creating tours with the regular 4.x license ?

I am happy to do it all again in 2.x or 3.x as I don't want to spend more money on something that hasn't made money for me. Not blaming anybody but myself here.
It's a bit hard to remember all the hoops I've jumped to put my project together, but I remember being a quite a few. Lots of learning. Good times. But I am fine with the old process.

I've downloaded 4.5.1 Pro Trial.
I've added an old image file 9000x4500.
As soon as I want to add an HTML 5 output it crashes.
I've downsized the file to 3200x1600. Hit the add HTML 5 output ... crash again.

Q2. What am I doing wrong ? Why the crush ?
See attached files.

I've tried to open old projects, installed Pano2VR 2.x 3.x
They seem to be more stable, but one curious thing happens, HTML files come empty, at absolutely 0 bytes.

Q3. Why the empty HTML files ?

I have:
i7 2600K 3.4Ghz
16Gb RAM
EVGA GTX 570
Windows 7 OS on SSD
hundreds of Gb of free space

I might upgrade to 4.x but I really hope I can get past the initial problems.
I do have lots of panoramas that are dormant, never got around to process. And I do have the time now.

Many thanks !

Hi Philux,
You say when you add an HTML5 output it crashes.
Are you opening an old p2VR file or building a new project with 4.5.1 Pro?
64 or 32 bit?

To see what keys you have you should be able to access your account. To do this just click the login link found at the bottom of our website and if you have not already done so, request a new password. Make sure you use the same e-mail you used when you purchased the software.
Any problems send me an e-mail at support@ggnome.com

Hi Hopki! Always so prompt ! Happy New Year !

Note: when we are talking about 3.x, to be more precise it is 3.0 b4.

Both fresh new project and old project, it crashes.
To avoid old settings, maybe incompatibility of project files, I created a new project under 4.5.1 64bit trial, added a jpg panorama file.
Hit the add HTML 5 >>> crash, hit add flash >>> crash.

I did use a newly created 3.x project file with the HTML output placed already. So when I opened it 4.5.1 the HTML output was already there.
Again under 4.0 or 4.5.1 when I try to access the settings of the output, it crashes, and I don't mean the deep nested settings about HTML in particular, I mean all the settings related to the output.
See attachment please.

I've noticed that while under 3.0 b4 I don't have any templates showing under the HTML tab. ( see scr cap attached )
The templates seem to be where they belong, though just normal.ggt is there @ 8.5k ( see scr cap attached)

I have a suspicion that the Visual C++ 2008 is at fault for the crashes. I blame Microsoft ! :)

I did check my licenses and I can upgrade to 4.x for an affordable amount. ( I was happy to see I have both pano and object2VR :D )
Can I still do pano tours with 4.x individual?
Even if it doesn't have the convenience of the Pro, if I did it with 3.x I should be able to do it again.
But, one problem at a time.

Thanks !

Hi,
With non pro you build a tour the same as you did with version 3 using separate p2vr files.
Try uninstalling and removing the templates folder then reinstall.
Then try building a project from new using 4.5.1.

With your version 3.x license you can go to the download page on the website then click Show all downloads.
You can then download 3.1.4 which was the last stable version 3.x build.

I removed all installs, removed templates.
4.5.1 still crashes on add HTML, or edit settings, with either fresh project or old.

On the other hand ...
I've installed 4.5.1 64bit pro trial, on a laptop and it looks like it works fine, as far as the problems encountered on the desktop computer.

I've also installed 3.1.4 64bit, it crashes as well, new or old project, on add output or edit output. ( desktop computer ).
3.0b3 was working on the desktop.

So, there's something that doesn't work quite right on my desktop machine.
I am not so sure where should I look for problems.
Whatever information I need to put out, let me know.

Thanks !

Hi Philux,
If your laptop is ok and your desktop crashes I assume your laptop does not have all the software as your desktop.
If this is the case it should be possible to identify what is causing the problem by installing the software on your laptop a program at a time.

Where do I begin ?

I have a lot of software installed on the desktop. It will never fit on the laptop. It only has 120Gb SSD.
Doesn't seem to me to be a solution to expect to find some culprit this way.

Can you give me any hints ?
What actually happens when one Pano2VR tries to create an OUTPUT ?

Could it be the Visual C++ 2008 libraries ?
Should I go through the registry and clean anything Pano2VR ?
I really am out of my comfort zone, I have absolutely no clue about diagnosing this sort of crash.

Thanks anyway, I'll try to find something.
I'll report on my progress.

Ok,
If there is loads of programs then as you say not practical.
Send me an e-mail at support@ggnome.com

It may be we have to do a clean install. The problem is not all software that use libraries installs them in a common place.
Pano2VR does, but if another program has installed them for its exclusive use then this will cause a problem.
