I have been using QTVR since it first came out and I thought it always created cubes in 16 bit tifs. But a few days ago I noticed that my 16 bit equirectangulars are converted to 8 bit cubes. How do I keep the cubes 16 bit?

Hi Svendus,
Thanks for pointing this out. I had not noticed that setting before in Pano2vr.
But this was a question related to Pano2QTVR. There is no place in Pano2QTVR where one can choose between 8 and 16 bit tiff. It is supposed to always save the cubes in 16 bit. But maybe Pano2QTVR and Pano2VR share some dll that has screwed things up....?
I have and use both Pano2vr and Pano2QTVR.

Pano2QTVR works with 16bits if you use the PanoTools DLL (pano12.dll). QTVRs are always 8bits because of the limitations for this format. I plan to add 16bit support to Pano2VR with beta6 or beta7.

Which Version of the (pano12.dll). do you recommend in Windows
From Jim Watters PanoTools Distribution
From Jim Watters PanoTools Distribution
Everything after 2.7.13 should be fine for the Pano2QTVR needs because of the anti aliasing filters. If you also like to convert 32bit HDR images you need a later version (around Feb 2006, can't remember the version number when I added this code).
