I was expecting existing geotagged data to be picked up from the EXIF data;
GPS Latitude, GPS Longtitude and GPS ImgDirection
Am I hoping for too much ?

In most cases, spherical and cubic panoramas - a composite image of ... (without one-shot systems)
What data do you to automatically GT finding the composite TIFF image with over 3 images?

Hi,
This will be introduced later but for now its manually done with the map in user data.
We tried so hard to get all the features working as wanted, but then we also needed to get version 4 beta out.
It will come.

OK well that sounds good! Having to transfer all the tagged data otherwise would be a pain!

As to hum@no.id's comments The data I copy across to the final Pano's, I use ALL the data from one of the RAW files (only thing that should change significantly is GPSImageDirection & GPSPitch between shots), with relevant comments to indicate how the image was prepared. But the essentials are the GPS fields which includes the camera-atitude data with GPSImgDir & GPSPitch indicating the initial view parameters. Thus I'm hoping that the GPSImageDirection field will also be picked up for the North indicator automatically.

Really happy to see this feature in P2VR 4b1. Well done so far guys!

Just to add to requests for future developments (if possible) I'd be interested to see importing KMZ files. When I'm out on a shoot I often use a GPS app on my phone to geolocate, then import that into Google Earth. It's a great development to be able to add geotags manually into P2VR, but for a multi-node tour it's be fantastic to import a KMZ (with correctly named node points) and therefore import all GPS data in one fell swoop.

Right just had a chance to try out Beta 2 which says;
Import for EXIF/GPS data
So OK where does it import the GPS Latitude and GPS Longitudinal too ? I rather thought it would appear in the User data panel ......

Hi,
We used: http://www.geosetter.de/en/
This lets you set location and direction, windows only.
Please see attached pano which has been tagged.

I think the question being asked is "if" a geo tagged image from camera will work with automatic exif/gps import into Pano2vr.

Say using Canon's official GPS the GP-E2 or Nikon's GP-1. Those or any of the available aftermarket systems like say Solmeta, Promote GPS etc.

It should work with those cameras (I tested the Nikon AW100, EyeFi card, iPhone 4S, Lightroom + PtGui & AutoPano as stitcher). If you have an image, that doesn't work: Please send it to me (as PM), so that I can have a better look. Thx.

I can confirm it works 100% with Canon GP-E2 GPS Geotagging.
I have yet to test it with my Solmeta on my Nikon.

Of course the Geo Data must get passed on to the stitched panorama image.
I'm sure this was introduced into PTGui fairly recently.

OK well none of the ones I have tried so far have worked, the EXIF data has been added either from within Geosetter using EXIFTool or direct from EXIFtool itself.
The data as extracted by EXIFtools is also added here as a text file.

Hopki - Just checked your Park image and yes that loads the data fine, so slightly bemused! Will do some further checking to see if I can spot what is different as well.

Geoff,

I just tested your image file after making EXIF comparisons in Photoshop.
I could see no difference so I imported your panorama into Pano2VR 4.0 Beta 2 and it worked fine.
