I just released the beta3. The major new feature is support for skins in Flash 9. A skin consists of elements where each element can be active. Active elements can control the panorama, link to urls or modify the skin itself. You can see a quick demo at http://gardengnomesoftware.com/pano2vr_sample.php . I will add more samples in the next days.
The skin is completely embedded into the swf file so unlike the previous versions you don't need an external controller.
On the editor side skins are saved completely in a single file (extension *.ggsk) so that they can be easily shared with other people. The skin editor can be launched from the main screen with "Tools - Skin Editor" or the output dialog.

Other features/changes with beta 3:

* API: addHotspot working in AS3
* API: new callback functions onRollOverQtHotspot,onRollOutQtHotspot
* protection Flag for QuickTime
* Flash 9 panorama XML controllable
* Hand cursor for hotspots in Flash 9
* yet another fix for the Hotspot editor on Mac OS X - PPC
* protection flag for QuickTime
* Flash default Quality is now 9

and many, many more smaller changes and fixes.

You can download the new version from http://gardengnomesoftware.com/pano2vr_download.php

The "sample" flash 9 version on your site doesn't pan so nice for me. Rather slow and somewhat jerky in rotation. This is not the case with others I have seen or made myself.

Smooth, I have exactly the opposite experience. To me it looks much less jerky than the previous beta, also lloking at a test I just did of one of my own panos.

Thomas, did you tweak anything in the smoothness department?

The new demos should take a bit more resources because there is an additional step in blending but I noticed on my systems that it feels smoother in the over all experience. I have no logical explanation for this because I didn't changed to code for panorama rendering.

I would be very happy if you could change your wonderful Flash 8 controllers int the new skin format. The *.ggsk are self containing so they can be easily shared...

Good reminder. The code is almost done, but I had some late issues with it so I skipped it for this release, but it should be in the next beta.

Further down the track and after losing even more hair....

I did find the logic (however off beat it is) and created my first skin which can be seen here

I found it to be quite buggy and still don't know why the pan left and pan right is so jerky when the autopan and zoom function work as expected.

It appears (well to me anyway) that you must have an "extra" image in the "Tree" before you can "assign" an image and if you drag something in the tree one certain way the program just closes without warning.

Anyway, nothing to say "I'm" doing things correctly - I'm just fumbling my way until we have a tutorial.

Looks to have good potential, would like to see "Sound on, Sound Off" added to the default list.

Skin editor

Possible don't work 'anchor' choice.

___

Necessary to add, standard logical commands - 'Undo' and 'Rendo' (+ hotkey)...
