This is a good one . . .

Has anyone tried to create delayed effects with Pano2vr? I know it isn't theoretically possible, but I also know that many people manage things by thinking out of the box, as it were.

So if anyone has a tip they can share with me, I would be grateful; the sort of thing I am after is for the alpha of the thumbnails to change slowly and only after the rest of the page has loaded. The only way I can think to do that at the moment is to make it in Flash and import that as a file, linking from that.

There must be something simpler.

Thanks in advance,

Jon

Answering myself, which is something those rapidly approaching old age often do, yes... it can be done:

very neat Jon - how's that done, then?

Seen something similar by Terry over at Regal 360 Devil's Thumb Ranch done with FPP: http://www.regal360.com/index.php/compo ... ranch.html

I do like the way that tour loads - builds gradually in sections - is this possible in P2VR?

Well, it was inspired by Terry's tour: there was a question on Panoguide to find if it was possible using Pano2vr. So, I decided to have a go (I have accredited Terry with the idea).

The answer is that the menu is created using imported swf files that I created with Flash; all that was necessary was to get the timing right by adding blank frames before the action. The alpha changes on the hotspots work very nicely with P2vr.

More than that, these external swfs are incredibly small, moreso than using the equivalent png graphic. That has knocked about 0.4 Mb off the skin.
