Crash on 'Create the output file...'

Post by Roy Reed » Wed Aug 15, 2007 12:30 pm

Hi

I've just installed the the beta1 of Pano2VR 2.0 and am getting a crash when I get as far as creating the output file. The progress bar gets to about 65-75% and then the programme closes with no warning. Same thing happens whether I'm creating a Quicktime or Flash movie. All settings were left at the defaults.

The input file is a 1.25MB jpg 3500x1750 equirectangular image.

I'm on Win XP Pro SP2
Dual Core AMD Opteron 180 2.41GHz
2GB RAM
Quicktime 7.1.6

Here's the contents of the Windows generated error file. Let me know if you need any other info.

I've just tested with a different image and it works fine. The crash happens with two images both the same size (slight variations in stitching). I've uploaded one of these images so that you can see if you can reproduce the crash.

Same for me too

Post by terrycym » Wed Aug 15, 2007 1:14 pm

I get a crash too.
Happened twice now, each time was with different input files.
I'm trying to create a QTVR movie

Pano2vr.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x0044d9e" referenced memory at "0x687554c0".
The memory could not be written.

I'm running on Windows XP in Pano2VR non-licensed mode.
Give me the ability and I can send you debug info (I do this for a living)

Hmm... this makes me wonder.... Do you use a machine with the memory protection enabled? (just to find a direction for me to dig....)

I don't know, what is "Memory Protection"?

I am running Pano2VR on a PC and Windows XP by the way.

I tried running Pano2VR in Windows 2000 compatibility mode and that fails too

I am not sure what the cause is, I think it is an error in the now (much faster :) ) remapping engine and the error shows only on certain platform/computer/image combinations. But I have now a computer at hand that show this bug. I hope I can fix it soon.
