Any tips for large/high resolution files?

Hi, does anyone have any tips for what settings to use for displaying high resolution files? I would like the best quality while not having to download a huge file. I have been lowering the Image Quality to about 70-80 and upping the number of Sub Tiles but keeping the cube face to maximum (about 2880). Thanks

If you would make a high resolution winter panorama featuring mostly snow an a cloudy sky, and also a panorama of a forest with thousands of leaves, twigs, and other tiny little 'things', of exactly the same quality, and you would make a VR version of both of them, using exactly the same settings for cube size and compression quality, what do you think would be the size of the resulting files?

Right: the size in Megabytes of the winterwonderland would be tiny, whereas the green hell file would be absolutely HUGE.
With every setting in Pano2VR at exactly the same value!

Filesize after compression with any given cube size depends on image content, so there is no fixed file size for VR files of any resolution.
The simple rule is 'No Details = small file size' and 'Many Details = Large file size' , and anything in between obviously.

Do not try to make all your panoramas the same file size if their content is not similar, stop increasing compression before they go ugly!
It's a matter of trial and error because every image is different.

Thanks, so it sounds like the number of Sub Tiles doesn't really matter. It's more about finding that "sweet spot" in compression...thanks
