Hi, I've had problems with my panos not playing the entire MP3 audio clip. It has happened with short 45 second clips and with 3 minute clips. With the 45 second clip example it stopped after 29 seconds while the 3 minute clip stopped some 15 seconds before the end. I've experimented with audio being background and and panoramic sound and it stops in both instances. Has anyone had this and found a fix?

Hi
I have had this same problem, but found it was the way I recorded the sound.
How you record it, sample rate etc makes so much difference, use 44.1kHz and a bit rate of 192kbps, as per Karyn’s post.

EDIT
have attached a file that does just this, plays much shorter in teh skin. :(

All the best
Hopki :)

I guess the problem is that Flash really only supports 11 kHz, 22 kHz and 44.1 kHz even if the documentation suggest otherwise in other parts. Your file uses 8kHz. If you stick just to those sample rates the sound should play correct.

Thanks, sorry I've since overwritten it. Crazy, I know, but at first I thought it was the aif to mp3 conversion software I was using so I made a bunch of versions using Switch, iTunes and Sound Studio. Maybe somewhere in there I dumblucked into inadvertently using Karyn's settings (44.1kHz and a bit rate of 192kbps). The mp3 that would cutoff in the pano would play in full with just an audio playing program. I just did one 44.1khz 64kbps to try to save file size and it stopped short but another version at 44.1khz 96kbps is ok (192 was good too, just too big).

I use both 32k and 64k bit rates successfully at 22.05 Khz sampling.
The lower rates work well for small bandwidth sounds, eg: voice only or single guitar with no extreme frequencies.
Don't know if it makes the difference but I use Sound Forge to do the conversion.

Example of 64 kbps stereo file as background sound at:
