Sudden google maps issue

Anyone faced sudden issues with google maps?
In all my projects p2vr pro and p2vrmultires
it seems the gmaps cannot be hidden.
I guess something changed in the gmaps API that affects it?

(map was supposed to be invisible on start but is shows by default and cannot be hidden by its buttons)

Also for quick check I uploaded the pano2vr project from here
http://ggnome.com/wiki/Pano2VR_Pro%3A_A ... ML5_output
and it seems there is the same issue of map not closing

I assume you know that Google Maps has changed their program so that maps made with the Classic GM and now "converted". I don't like a lot of the changes, but there are a few upgrades, too. It doesn't look like you have made a typical Google map - or at least not one that I have seen before. You might check this article:

Also just search Google for any updated info on changes they've made.

Good luck,

Thanks ktshasta,
but that's why I uploaded pano2vrpro's own sample - example from tips ggnome page
http://goo.gl/1lGktE
and it has the same problem.
Also here too:
https://ggnome.com/samples/pano2vr_4/oetscher/output/
It has probably to do with a change that happened the last 2-3 days.
Its obvious in chrome, firefox and safari on win7 so is not a browser update issue.
Hopki any ideas? someone else?

Hi Guys,
looking into this, only just happened over the last couple of days, so far Im stumped as the text box that contains the map is hidden?
Even Googles own skin does not show until the map button is clicked showing the text box.
Set the scaling of the text box to 0/0 and back to 1/1 does hide and show as before, but why this is happening I have no idea.
Thomas is looking into this.
Regards,
Hopki

I started running into this error as well today. Tried in IE and in Chrome with same results. Can't make the text box with the map go away.

Ours can be hidden still. Our skin is set up to slide the map and set transparency when the close icon is clicked. The map is in a text box inside a container.

As said, for the moment the workaround is to set the Map/text box to scale 0/0.
Just done this on our example HERE.
The map is designed to hide when you click on a map node. So the Maps close button and Map button in the skins controller had to have the actions changed.

Hi DJ,
Select the lower level in your HTML5 multi resolution output to stop the preview images reloading when rotating your pano.
Other than that very nice work. :D.

Thanks Hopki,
that's a nice workaround,
I hope there will be also solution soon too,
as when the map is inside a container that hides and shows itself
with other elements too inside it,
things get more complicated.

Yes, this is still a Google issue that can be worked around by using toggle scale.

The map is designed to hide when you click on a map node. So the Maps close button and Map button in the skins controller had to have the actions changed.
This has the unfortunate effect that any adjustments to the Google map zoom scale to the left, closes the window. A bug fix is urgently needed.
Keep up the good work

Clicking anywhere on the map to hide it is only an option.

Here is another example of using toggle scale to show and hide the map.
