Hello guys!
What is the best resolution for viewing panorama of HD display? Of course the smallest in size without compromising quality.
Ask for spherical and cylindrical panoramas.
Best resolution
somewhere about 12000x6000

The best way to deliver panoramas is with multiresolution with the highest cube face equal to what it was shot at.
The smallest size panorama that utilizes all the pixels of a HD display depends on what FoV it is displayed at.
The FoV that looks best depends on how far away the display is. The HD display of the DK2 HMD is about 105°
For 1920 pixels wide monitor showing 70° to 50° wide FoV I would use between 8k and 13k wide pano for both spherical and cylindrical.
Number of pixels per degree for a pano is the width/360, for HD Perspective screen (1920-1)*90/ tan(FoV/360*Pi)*Pi/360
HD screen at:
50° = 36 p/d = 12.9k wide pano
60° = 29 p/d = 10.4k wide pano
70° = 24 p/d = 8.6k wide pano
The best way to ensure that user does not zoom in on the pano and show it pixelated is to set Viewing Parameters | Field of View (Zoom): | Min FoV in: = Pixels, with Min set to 1
