Hi

I'm trying to add an animated GIF hotspot to my panorama.
The documentation http://ggnome.com/wiki/Adding_Hotspots_(Pano2VR) in point 3 is a little unclear for a novice at skin editing such as myself. The "Add button" image in the documentation Image does not exist anywhere in my GUI http://i.imgur.com/ZGu8d9J.png

I guess the documentation should say:
3. There are two ways of adding a hotspot image:
3.1 - Using "Add button" Image and then select the file containing your desired image. Importing the image as a button will cause the cursor to change to a pointing finger when the mouse hovers over the image, indicating interactivity.
3.2 - Using "Add image" Image and then select the file containing your desired image. Importing the image as an image, will result in the mouse pointer not changing when it enters the hotspot area.

The icon images used in the docs should be updated to match the real UI and rewording point 3 would help.

I had no luck simply getting my own image to show up where I placed a point hotspot. Try again today.

To see an animated gif you need to load the file using an external loader, otherwise the gif will be static.
Just make sure you have a copy of the gif in the output folder and the external loader pointing to it.

You can then add a flash version of your animated hotspot image (SWF) then set to don't show in HTML5. Then the external loader set to don't show in Flash.

I want to use GIF, I don't want to use Flash for many reasons. Can I use GIF without using SWF in an HTML5 tour?

I edited the skin.js file and replaced button_1.png with my hs1.gif and it works, it animates. The Skin Editor GUI should allow one to choose GIF in the filechooser.

Yes this would be useful. Already a feature request. See Issue #926

Yes of course, I was just pointing out you can have both flavours in the skin, each set not to be used for the output it is not compatible with.
Example animated gif in Flash.

+1 for seeing it built into the skin editor, as per the bug tracker entry

I'm working on a project now with lots of animated GIFs… hope to see it implemented in v5.x!
