Hi,

I have seen a few post with people have the same issue - Has this been resolved?
I am putting together a test site with WIX - robmartwood.wix.com/test
I have added a html file (linking to xml file with flash backup).
Problem is ever since the IOS7 update on my ipad, safari simply wont open any page with any virtual tour on; just crashes.
This even goes for the ones on my current website http://www.fallenangelphotography.co.uk. (See 360 Virtual tours section).
However they seem to work ok on my iphone with IOS7??

Please help. Cheers

Hi,
What are your HTML5 settings?
Have you seen this KB doc?

Hi,

Cheers for the quick response, here are the html5 settings I have been using.

Html5 Settings:
Cube Face Size: 2000px
Image Quality: 90
Window Size: 640 x 480

Mobile:
Max Screen Size: 1024px
Image Quality: 80
Max Screen Size: 500px
Image Quality: 90

Html: fullscreen (flash backup).

(This is the embedded html file)

Have just received some advice via email saying this should be 1440 and 70 to work well.
Is the bigger size the cause of the ipad safari crashing?
Have been using the same combo for a while; seemed to be working fine until the latest update to ios7?

Many Thanks

Rob

Hi Rob,
That would be me sending you the support e-mail :)
The knowledge base document if followed should give you good results.
Personally I would use the following:
In the HTML5 output settings tab:
Cube face = 1440, quality = 70

Then in mobile:
Max Screen Size: 1136 = Cube face 960, quality = 70
Max Screen Size: 960 = Cube face 700, quality = 70
Max Screen Size: 480 = Cube face 416, quality = 70

Hi Hopki
in my opinion quality 70 for HTML5 output is too low. I use 85 and I never had any problem with crashes and I obtain almost the same quality as Flash quality 80. In both cases I do downward adjustements in complementary faces (Nadir, Zenit ...)
Additionally pls note that iPad 3 has a verified critical loading issue (probably due to limited CPU power compared to screen Retina res): with a cube face over 1200 some parts of tiles are sometimes lost or misplaced.
So for HTML5 output I use 1200 cube face and 1440x1080 window. It works fine and never seen any crash.
Ok for mobiles

Hi Pietro,
I hear what you say but the settings are for the panoramas to display on as many devices as possible.
Some browsers cache nodes longer than others, if you have a brewer holds the cache longer and you are moving around a virtual tour then after a couple of nodes you may crash the browser.
I have seen this happen with a iPad in the past but using the setting I posted I can happily move around a multi node tour on my iPad and Samsung 10.1 without any problems.
If your only display one panorama then yes you can up the settings.

Hopki

Hi Hopki
Thx for fast reply. Yes I use such setting for single panos and you make a good point with VT.
Therefore I think that every time we give suggestions we should specify the scope. Otherwise we risk either to have rather poor images or disturbing crashes ...

Hi,

Thanks to everyone for your posts / comments.
I am still relatively new to pano2vr so really appreciate the help / advice.
Thanks Hopki - I have used the settings you recommended; tours looking really good and no crashes on safari.

Brilliant, thanks

Conception with only HTML5 (without any add flash)

How can I still be separated (without for detecting screen resolution) the inclusion of different tiles?
With a new iOS7 and upgrade from the user, such as the crashes of all iPAD3 and etc. (inc. R.displays) for resolution 1850x1850 ...
BUT do less for desktop screens 2K 1440x 1440 it looks terrible, very bad...

How to make use FOR ALL "iBad /iGone" 7x force low-resolution without detection screen resolution?
