Hi,

I was checking some HTML5 panoramas that were working in Google on a Nexus 7 and I think Google did an automatic update of the Google browser.

Now I get the following errors when the panoramas load. "The page at www.redsquare.com says: Error:0.2: 'highp' : precision is not supported in fragment shader". After I "OK" the message I get another one, "The page at www.redsquare.com says: Could not initialise shaders". After "OK'ing" the second message the pano skin loads and is working perfectly but no panoramas are displayed.

The panoramas were built in Version 3.1.4 64bit Cocoa and the url is http://www.redsquare.com/coles/testpano ... ed/xmasday

Anyone have any idea on how to get it working again?

cheers,

Tony

Hi,

I've just tested it with the demonstration HTML5 pano on the website, http://gardengnomesoftware.com/samples/ ... _4/mozart/, and its the same result.

I tested the Krpano HTML5 example http://krpano.com/krpano.html?xml=tours ... html5=only and it works as expected.

I'm working on a project for a major Australian client and this is going to create some issues, is it something that I can fix within the files created on output?

More information:

Chrome Application Version: 30.0.1599.92
OS: Android 4.3.0; Nexus 7 Build/JWR667
Blink version: 537.36(@158505)
Javascript version: V8 3.20.17.14

Seems like the issue is that Google dropped WebKit for their own engine Blink! This is the project page http://www.chromium.org/blink

Details regarding Issue 245755: WebGL regression - 'highp' : precision is not supported in fragment shader - https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issu ... ?id=245755

Hope this helps, getting desperate :-(

I'm getting these same errors on Nexus 7, with this Pano2VR pano:

Anyone know if there's a workaround for this?

Hi,

I was wondering if there has been any development in regard to updating the code to allow panoramas to work on Google Chrome in Android?

Hi Hum,

I checked your files on my Nexus 7 with Chrome and got the same error message.

Image

I'd love to get it resolved in Pano2VR as both PTGui and KRPano work in the new Chrome on Android.

Hi Gumir,

tried to view panos from your portfolio on HTC One X+, in Google Chrome tiles are not loaded at all, only black screen with hotspots. In default browser panoramas work but with huge alliasing. I'd rather use multiresolution.
The same popup with notification about shader on each panorama, one must click twice Ok to continue.
BTW: nice webdesign

Yes ... I do not know the answer, and I wish the same :(

Hi, Yaroslav

We are now in the position that before ... only basis changed other problems.

Previously, we set conditions for viewing and they were many and much more than now. Old conditions - install java virtual machine, install iPIX player, set QuickTme, install Flash Player, etc. And it seems this was not the end ... but now other problems that require only the presence of a different browser on the same system such as Firefox and sometimes Android-Opera ... and everything.

We forget , that we are at the initial stage of starting of technology as HTML5

Well, does not show on any browser, thank God that there are plenty of free choice for Android ... it is still much better than what I mentioned earlier. Of two evils choose a least evil ...
Ideally require universal work - not yet time. Chrome freezes, but the time comes he'll be all right ... correct - look - upgrade from Google... Built-in browser shows - and that's good
In one agrees that Pano2VR, since the launch of support HTML5 (and passed a lot of time) still provides a poor set of HTML5 functionality in a standard publication.

I have a feeling in New Year - be Big Bang of this technology - new solutions on the market ... and I hope that today's two big players in this market will not look bad ... happy new year
I'd rather use multiresolution.
Beta - this is not a serious choice for publication
*And also does not work on older Android devices and older Windows OSs

btw. My site has a small info - for browsing panorama on Android-devices with Mozilla Firefox. Below on pages

Good news from Thomas. You can fix the issue by doing a search and replace within the pano2vr_player.js file. Simply replace,

precision highp float;

with

precision mediump float;

I've tested http://www.redsquare.com/coles/testpano ... ed/xmasday in Chrome (Nexus7), Chrome & Safari (iPad) and Chrome & Safari (Desktop) and it all looks good.
