Hi Folks,
after downloading and installing the latest beta i am not able to load any older Project or creating a new one. The Software crashes while opening the Imagefile:

Code: Select all

Process: pano2vr [896]
Path: /Applications/Pano2VR.app/Contents/MacOS/pano2vr
Identifier: com.gardengnomesoftware.pano2vr
Version: 4.5beta (10252)
Code Type: X86 (Native)
Parent Process: launchd [97]
How do i get back to the latest stable? Just Download an Overwrite?
Regards
Sebastian

You can use both versions side-to-side. Just download the old version
Personally I renamed the 4.5 version to Pano2VR_beta so the name would't conflict with the old version.

But more interestingly would be to know the reason why it crashes with you as on my iMac it works flawlessly.
Could you please publish the full crash report?

Hi Karel,
thanks for your reply.
Could you please publish the full crash report?
Of course, where do i find the file?
I really like the new Features, especially the HTML5 multi Resolution, so side-by-side is ok but not perfect.

Hello Sebastian,

we know about this crash, but I still have not found the reason for it, as it only happens on some Macs (only one Mac Book Pro in the office out of 5 Macs), and only if you put in a lot of panoramas at once. If you do it 10 at a time it works. This bug also doesn't happen if you watch Pano2VR with a debugger, so it is really hard to track down. I am working now on a workaround that should solve that problem.

Hi Thomas,
in my case pano2vr crashes if i only open one(!) Equi-Image. No matter if i start a new project or open an existing one.
I am working on a old iMac, coreDuo; i call it the "Methusalem Machine". But with no problems till now ;-)

Hi Sebastian

Open Console (in Applications > Utilities)
Depending on which version of the OS you're running, you should see User Diagnostic Reports in the left hand sidebar… you should seen Pano2VR or any other app you're having problems with listed in there. Hope this helps

After a lot of testing I finally found the cause. To work around this Mac OS bug, it is required to rewrite some parts of Pano2VR and this will take a while. The next beta should solve this problem.
