Looking to insert a video from vimeo on a skin i'm creating, just as an introduction more than anything. It needs to work in both flash and html5, but I can only find solutions on flash options in previous threads dating back to 2011.

Is there now an easy way of inserting a vimeo/youtube video in a tour??

Hi,
Have you seen this post: http://gardengnomesoftware.com/forum/vi ... meo#p33202
Use the Search box top right of the forum window, all I did was enter Vimeo.

Sorry Hopki, I probably wasn't clear in my post.

That post is for using 2 separate skins to display the vimeo videos, but I'm looking for instructions on how to actually embed the vimeo video in a skin . I've seen a few examples for Youtube, but nothing that explains it for vimeo. I've tried the various options, selecting just the URL from the vimeo embed code but that doesn't work for vimeo.

Basically, a version of the below, but for vimeo.

Thanks for your help.

Just bumping this, as i'm really after a solution.

In my desperation I tried the youtube method following the instruction below:

http://gardengnomesoftware.com/wiki/Add ... Tube_Video

Problem is Youtube no longer has the option to view the old embed code, so i'm at a loss. I've even tried going into my old skin files where i've embedded youtube videos before with no issues only to find those skins are now broken, I presume due to the updated version of pano2vr.

This is the flash version i'm struggling with, I presume html5 will be fine as I just copy and paste the iframe code.

Has anyone, Hopki, got any updated step by step instructions for embedding a youtube or vimeo video into a skin? What exactly do I need to be copying and pasting into the url box for the external swf or image?

Hi,
Please see working example of Flash and HTML5 Vimeo video working.

The html5_skin.ggsk uses the embed code, right button click in the video to copy the iframe then copy it into the hotspots URL text field. It is using a set text action to load the iframe code from the hotspots URL using the place holder $hu.

The flash_skin 2.ggsk uses Vimeo API and then fetches the video code from the hotspot, again using the place holder $hu.
If you right button click in a video and copy the url, you will see the video code.

Please note when I was on the Vimeo site it was very slow.

Regards,
Hopki

Thanks Hopki, managed top get the answer from another users forum post in the end but thanks for the skin, big help.

I guess the help sections ned to be updated with new video work throughs? I imagine this is a fairly well used feature? Judging by the confusion over this it would be great to have an official guide up together.

I've just downloaded the zip folder and created a video inside a test 360vr, works awesome !! Thanks for sharing that. A couple questions:

With the flash file when clicking full screen on the video it pushes the 360vr in and out of full screen rather than the video. Any way around this?

Will the new pano2VR V4.5 be able to do this with vimeo, youtube, video within the editor?

Cheers,

Peter

Hi Pete,
As we are using the same flash player the fullscreen action will make the pano go fullscreen and not the embed video.
Thomas spoke of the new Skin Editor that will be coming out with 4.5. Once this is in place then we can expect to see some good things.

The current skin editor was just designed so you could add a few buttons, but it is really struggling when you start building complex skins.
The new Skin Editor has been written to deal with this much better and it lends itself to far more features in the future.
I don't know the full in's and out's of it but what I have seen so far it is very cool, you will be able to copy actions from one element to another and other cool things like that.
All I can say is let's get it out first, then the magic can start to happen.

Hi Hopki,

Sounds good !! Looking forward to the update, if it can do the video stuff then I'll defiantly be upgrading to it. More clients are asking about it now, could have done with it 6 months ago lol
