I am trying to stretch my limits here and have read all posts I can find on adding a youtube video and cant' quite get it to work. This is a project just starting so I am working on the video button first since it's the first time trying to add something like this but have some issues. The video box opens off of the lower video button and shows the area where is should appear. I've added the embed code into a text box but nothing ever appears. Also something I will have a problem with later is that when I hit the video button a second time nothing appears. (FYI) The 360 and stills don't work yet as I wanted to nail down the video first. I'd like to make just one version which will work on the desk top and be able to be viewed on ipad etc....

Thanks in advance,

I'm not sure that's the problem since it does it on line too. I know that I have all my drives set for the security problem and have no problems seeing .swf's on my machine. Not really sure what I've done wrong but will be back trying other things later tonight.

Russ, but thanks for point to that article as I want to read as much as I can about videos and panos.

Yes I used the one for html5. It had a rectangle that it is resting on and the close button. I changed the code so that now the item does open after closed (had something wrong) and uploaded the new still not working version. http://www.zoomhome.com/test/360_1/

Here is what the text box looks like:

Hi Russ,
The only thing stopping this working was the action in the button_vid, Mouse Click => Set Text => Text: $hu => Target: video_player
As its a button and not accosted with a hotspot this would set no text so removing the iframe text in the text box.

I removed the set text action from the button and it all works ok.
If you wanted a different video per panorama you can use tags and node markers. when activated the node marker can set text to the video_player so each panorama can have a different video, please note that node markers were introduced in version 4.x.

Not totally sure what I am supposed to remove. So I remove the entire action (for the video_player, or do I just remove the $hu from the text action? I tried both and neither seem to work. I have been working off line and have not posted to web again so not sure if that can cause any problems. So I need to show element or something since I still see the white box with no video.

Hi Russ,
Had a rethink, I now put the iframe code in the user data description text field and the play button now has the place holder $ud.
This means you can put a different video in each panorama, no need for node markers so will also work in version 3.x as well as 4.x
See project attached.

Hey there you go. That seems to work, so now all I need to do is get the stills and 360's built and running.

Thanks,

Russ

Hi Hopki,
I spoke too soon. I built the start of the tour and am in the middle of finishing the stills and video and see my test page with the video in it works in firefox, and chrome but not IE 8

Any idea how I can get that video to show across the board in all browsers? Still in the works so only a couple of the 360s are in the tour and the stills are pointing to a blank page, so just look at the video button

Hi Russ,
Some compatibility issues with IE8, will have to have a word with Thomas to see if he has any ideas.

Wouldn't it be possible in a future version of p2vr to add a few more fields for leisure data input

imagine we use the user fields and now want to add some video or the like: in this scenario we are stuck.
Shouldn't be too complicated for thomas to integrate a batch of unassigned fields in the property window and add a few placeholder strings.
eventually this will make it on the todo list
