preview.jpg what are they for, how to use them

What is the use of the nn.preview.jpg, which are created when making a panorama?
They are in the same folder, as the original jpg.

Should this be uploaded with the files to the website?

you can turn it off in
Settings - Images - Save Preview Image (untick)

its only a image required by pano2vr. No need to put them on the server
