Hi,

I ran in a problem with an external .png file that is used in the media part of the new 4.0 release.

I'll try to descibe the problem. This problem only occurs online not on my local machine. And it happens in all browsers I have on windows 8 (firefox, chrome and IE latest versions).

What happens is that the pano starts loading and then freezes, I'm not able to turn around. I can click on hotspots that are in the opening view but there is no movement and with some browsers it's only showing the gray images.

Here I have an example .swf: http://www.skyfocus.nl/SkyFocus/Tours/Z ... elz-5b.swf

The working version is located here: http://www.skyfocus.nl/SkyFocus/Tours/Z ... velz-5.swf

To the left in the panorama there is a poster on the wall with a agenda. I want to actualise this poster.
A local script is making a screendump of the online agenda and puts it on a webserver. The pano should load the most recent version.

In the first not working version (levelz-5b.swf) I'm using the link "http://www.geertsma.org/levelz/levelz.png"
This works perfectly on a local machine but not online.

The seccond working version (levelz5.swf) is using "media/levelz.png" , as a relative path to the image on the same server and directory of the tour.

Is this aknown bug ? Any workarounds ?

regards,

Hi,
You should not be linking directly to a SWF file. I am also getting the situation where I can only load once.
Using the Error console, see tip: http://gardengnomesoftware.com/wiki/Usi ... or_Console
On page refresh I get this.

"NetworkError: 404 Not Found - http://www.skyfocus.nl/SkyFocus/Tours/Z ... /media/$ht"

Ok, interesting feature in firefox, never used that. But I'm never to old to learn things.

But .....

You are pointing out an error that something is not loading. If I follow that link it's another media button in the same panorama.
As you can see this error also appears in the panorama version that is working levelz-5.swf ... I'll dig into that later, (this feature actually works).

Wait, I will clean things up and make a demo of a panorama with only this single feature in it ....

The working version is here: http://www.skyfocus.nl/demo/test-working.html
the not working version is here: http://www.skyfocus.nl/demo/test-notworking.html

When I do the debug trick I only see succesfull gets untill it stops ...

Are you sure it's not a security issue calling it from another server/domain?
Put everything on the same sever/domain URL and test.

It is on another domain server, that's the whole idea. The tour is running on the customers server and I'm not allowed to put changing content on
this server. I generate the agenda screenshot with some linux scripts on my own server.

But I don't see a difference with links I've used in the past linking to external content within a panorama, this works with both images and sound files.
Why should it not work with this media ?

Is it a server setting that should be turned on or off ? Or is this typical flash ?
