This time it is 3 hours drive west of Cancun to Izamal, Yucatan, Mexico. Its was founded in the 4th Century AD by Itzamna, leader and patriarch of the Myan People. Current population about 15,000 people [excluding tourists]. Itzamal hosts 6 pyramid structures of various sizes. On top of one pyramid site a Monastery was constructed. Izamal was named a "Pueblo Mágico" in 2002. Pre-Columbian Maya civilization.
