Hi Hopki

I need the virtual tour to be played on all platforms-pc's, mobiles, i device-iphone,ipad.I found this post by you in the forum http://gardengnomesoftware.com/forum/vi ... 615#p26212
and what i need is the flash version to be played on laptops & desktop & some flash supporting mobiles only and the HTML version only for supporting mobiles & i devices, so for this settings i have to select "prefer flash if available" option in the HTML output tab, is that correct ?
and should i use these screen resolutions for mobile & i device(HTML fromat)
HTML5 output, settings tab, 1500,
Mobile settings,
Max: 1024, Tile: 1440 80% iPad 1&2 (possible since IOS5)
Max: 960, Tile: 700 80% iPhone 4
Max: 480, Tile: 416 70% iPhone 3

regards,
kris

Hi,
All looks fine, but depending on the complexity of the panorama it may be that 1440 is too much of the iPad 1 as it only has 256MB Ram.
I would have the cube face settings set so in the settings tab = 1440px, this would then be seen on computers and iPad 3 (1GB Ram).
Then in the mobile, Max Screen Size 1024, cube face 960px, this would then bee seen on the iPad 1 & 2.

The iPad 2 can display very easily 1440 but there is no way of separating 1 & 2 so I would opt for the lowest res so both play ok.
Of course if only displaying one panorama and not a multi node tour then stay with your current settings.

Hopki

I published a Pano2VR panorama using a setting size of 1440, and then alternate screen sizes of 1024 (1024 pixel tiles), 960 (700 pixel tiles), and 480 (416 pixel tiles). I then edited one of the resulting tiles for each set with a label with the tile size.

I got the following results on iDevices:
iMac: 1440 tiles
iPad 3: 1024 tiles
iPad 2: 1024 tiles
iPhone 4s: 700 tiles

The javascript running on the iPad 3 does not seem to detect the retina screen. This is strange because it does detect the retina screen on the iPhone 4s.

Here's my test pano: http://greatblue.com/test

Here's the associated XML file: http://greatblue.com/test/test.xml

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Hi,
This is working for me, how I tested was made an HTML5 output with a setting cube face size of 1440.
Then in mobile tab set
1024 = 1024
960 = 700
480 = 416

I then opened the web server in Pano2VR to see what cube faces were served up with each device.

iPad3 = 1440, this is displayed as images/pano_o_0_0.jpg to images/pano_o_0_5.jpg

iPad2 = 1024, this is displayed as images/pano_o_1024_0.jpg to images/pano_o_1024_5.jpg

iPod Touch 4th gen with retina display, this is displayed as images/pano_o_700_0.jpg to images/pano_o_700_5.jpg

Did not test lower screen res.

Tip regarding web server: http://gardengnomesoftware.com/wiki/Int ... Web_Server

BTW I tested your link and I get 1440 on my iPad 3 and 1024 on my iPad 2.

Hopki
