Hi !

Just working out how to produce HTML5 output files for Apple iDevices and other mobile devices and need some guidance.

I'm looking at this page for reference http://gardengnomesoftware.com/wiki/Pan ... le_Devices

So have set my "Mobile" window settings accordingly (i think).

Is this correct ? As the Wiki page refers to Cube Face Size not Tile Size :?
Are these the best setting for mobile devices ?

Also, why does my output dialogue still have a big grey question mark - I'm using the new v 3.1.0 64bit Cocoa not Beta version.
Big Grey Question Mark !!! But what's it mean ?!! :)

Finally, what does the "File.p2vr.preview.jpg" do ? Is it needed when i upload the html5 files ?

Thanks !

Yes, the mobile cube face and screen dimensions look correct...

AND On HTML tab click full screen [x] option which points to the 'Flash .swf file name'

Not sure about your 64bit Coca issue. [whispered... we use a 32bit pc]
But your message box reads "create the output file 'file.xml' now. We get that one too.. and we say yes... and it produces an xml file that your pano2vr generated html file will use to display the image using Safari browser. Safari understands html 5 code set that uses the .xml instead of the flash .swf.

I think the preview.jpg is just that .. it looks like a smaller version of the panorama image.. like a thumbnail. We use it for a link picture to open the html 5 panorama.

Thanks again Dave :)

Good that the resolutions are ok. Always hard to check compatibility with all devices.

Pano2VR outputs the Html5 files fine ... just wondered why there was still the Big Grey "?" in the window since i'm using the non beta version. Maybe Thomas needs to update this.

And you still use a 32 bit PC ?! Hiss boooo ! :P

We get a typical small notice box saying the above text... regarding creating the .xml

The big gray box might be unique to Mac and the 64bit machine.

But it appears that an XML notice is delivered either way Mac or PC

Indeed the preview.jpeg can serve as a thumbnail but I think the main function of it is to limit the loading time of a previously before created pano project.
Pano2VR needs the image for display in its windows and creates it for each new project, with recents versions it can be now saved for importing it when re-opening a project but as Dave mentioned it can be used for other use as well.
The option to save the preview file can be switched off in the prefs.
