My observations whilst playing and learning using a Samsung Galaxy S II i9100 Android Smartphone:
With Android 2.3.4

Pano2VR .swf files play perfectly (Locally) after installing a .swf Flash Player APP. (I'm using SWF Player) :D

Pano2VR .swf files play perfectly (Internet) using Opera Mini Browser after installing Flash Plug-in. :D

Pano2VR .html5 plays via Firefox Browser (Internet) :D | But if you use pano2vrgyro.js the viewer "freaks out" but the Gyro does sort of work! :?

Another issue is that when you tap any skin button in the .html5 version the option comes up to save the image. :(

Attempting to view a locally stored .html panorama via Firefox gives a skin with Blank screen. :?
Hmm, does this on my PC also!!!
Firefox Mobile doesn't yet support Flash. These guys are behind the times :( Luckily Opera is my browser of choice :D

Attempting to view .html5 (locally) via Opera Mini throws this jII error. :(

After clearing that screen you get the skin but no panorama :(

Pretty much the same as Firefox

Brain hurts, more later...

Good Day Smooth

Interesting results with the browsers.

I am curious.. do you get the same type of issues when viewing this selections ?

No gyro plug in with these. Only typical html5 with Flash fall back.
When viewing them.. tilt down and you can read then tell us the tile size you see delivered to your device.
I have already used our iPad 2.. and read 960 which is normal.

Thanks for your experimentation feed back with other browsers.

Dave as you can see you panorama needs updating as you can see the cube joins in the html5 variant.
You will need to republish with Pano2VR 3.1

I see cubes faces of 1300 wide on my PC, so I guess this is your largest?

I tested on my Smartphone and the Flash version works fine with Opera Mini (but no zoom because you have no buttons!) but neither the Flash or HTML5 would show using Firefox mobile.
The Flash is understandable because Firefox mobile doesn't support Flash, but the HTML5 should work. Again this could be because of your old build.
Republish with 3.1 and I will take another look.

Dave,

Here are screen shots of your panorama tours using the Samsung Galaxy S II i9100

Using the default browser (Flash):

360texas_default_browser.jpg (93.63 KiB) Viewed 10088 times
You need to add "Zoom Buttons" as there is no pinch to zoom with Flash.

Using Opera Mini (Flash):

You need to add "Zoom Buttons" as there is no pinch to zoom with Flash.

Using Firefox Mobile (html5):

As you can see the HTML5 version is NOT displaying when it should as Firefox Mobile supports HTML5 and my own tests show my HTML5 panoramas.
Firefox Mobile does NOT support Flash.

Here is HTML5 being displayed via Firefox mobile

Broke the server while trying to add the .svg+xml mime. Called tech support.... fixed server including the .svg mime.

Rebuilt all 3 demo's ground up.. added tool bar for zoom in/out modified the simplex skin.

I now know it works with the desktop Safari.

Will check again tomorrow with the iPad 2. I know that the pinch zoom in/out works with the iPad.

Smooth, Thanks for your encouragement.

800px Cube faces are correct for the 800x480 resolution screen.

Your logo placement is a bit of an issue in vertical orientation though.

Are you sure you use Opera Mini.
Opera Mini does not support Flash,
Opera Mobile 10.1 does.
http://www.opera.com/mobile/specs/

I can not see that the SWF player has an plugin so I assume you mean The Adobe Flash plugin.

I just installed the Mobile version to see the performance on my Android Desire Z.
It turned out that I had to update the flashplayer to 10.3 before it accepted it.

It works fine except one thing. When you go fullscreen it turns to Landscape.
This does not happen in the standard browser or the Dolphin HD.
Only if I include a video inside my KRpano tour it turns to landscape in Fullscreen.

I also checked Daves panos. Works fine but same problem with no portrait support in Opera.
The buttons are too small for a smartphone. You only need zoombuttons and Fullscreen.

Yes Hans you are right, it is Opera Mobile not Opera Mini. To be honest I didn't know there was two variants.
I agree the buttons are too small and the only ones required are really the Zoom and Fullscreen.

So there you go, I agree with you 100%

Thanks for your feed back about the buttons. Yes, Smooth's earlier comments about the zoom in/out and full screen button set. That should resolve the logo button issue on the portrait cell phone screen.

I wonder IF I could have forseen the button crowding issue by setting the skin editor to the 800h x 400w size.
Since the toolbar is flagged to [x]CENTER SCREEN the tool bar center mark would have been (portrait 400w) at 1/2 center or 200.

Acutally I think ... the sum of the toolbar width + logo width should add to less than 400 px or the width of the smallest idevice

The Anchor point mark [x] will center the toolbar.
Bottom row Left, center, right

The LOGO Anchor point mark is Bottom left.

I will now go remove the unnecessary buttons. And Ill move the buttons farther apart for human finger usage. Making the buttons larger... Ill check the skin editor features and see if I can display them larger. Making the buttons scale larger is not practical... the visitor still has to touch/activate the screen button. Any scaling would be after touch... and be under their finger.. probably would not see the scaling affect.

I have talked too much... now to go figure this stuff out. SVG's are scalable without distortion so displaying them larger should work.

I think we are having fun now. OH and we have 3 grandchildren... two grandsons 6, 9, and a granddaughter 19 (in college already). Its good to be 68 (retired at 56). This kind of tech stuff... also makes my head hurt after awhile.

Just learned something new for me.

In the html5/css3 OUTPUT dialog box the "Image Output Path" defaults to "\images" folder.

I am working with 3 separate pano's (Flash and html5) I decided to save the html5 images to their own separate folder. \Hotel \150high and \500high

This "hotel" (not \hotel ) generated 2 new folders
images for all hotel cubefaces files AND
hotel for all the toolbar and logo files

When specifying only \hotel with the \ key it generated only the cubeface files... no toolbar buttons

AND to return to the original cubeface files and toolbar files just use 'images'

Possible suggestion when working with more than HTML5 1 pano (say 20 html5 panos with the same repeat used skin)... Have 1 Image output Path folder for 1 set toolbar buttons AND 20 pano folders

Rebuild #2

Down to 4 buttons. I used the skin editor to enlarge the buttons from 35x35 to 40x40px and spaced them out for human fingers.

Regenerated all files.

Since only the skin and the 3 flash .swf's changed, I uploaded to the server only the SKIN.js and the 3 pano .swf's.

Earlier thinking was it would be necessary to upload the whole lot.. but thought about what files actually were changed... hence only 4 files were needed to be uploaded.

Iam still concerned about the finger comfort re: button spacing... I do not have a cell phone connected to the internet.. I can not quickly check the pano's.

Thanks for your help with this work in progress.

Actually I think I have these back to front. I looked at the html5 version first and the Flash second. So by looking at the time I can say it is back to front!
As you can see your button sizes do not match.
